Jake Paul should easily batter Tyson.

Are you kidding around?
No. Both Paul brothers are excellent athletes. Jake is 27-years old, has a height, reach, and weight* advantage over Tyson, and has recently beaten several professional boxers and former MMA fighters, including former world champions.

I don't like it any more than you do, believe me.

*I assume. Tyson hasn't been weighed in a while.

Why does he like fighting washed up people though. I’m confused. If this guy is legit go in the ranks and become a fighter.

It’s because it’s not real. It’s staged. Nothing more than a publicity stunt,

It doesn't need to be rigged exactly for that reason. His camp handpicks opponents (this is also extremely common for pro boxers in the first twenty or so fights of their careers). He also doesn't fight recklessly.

I've watched the fights. I wish he was a phony but he's not.

I mean nice hit. But woodley is an mma fighter. Boxing is a complete different sport. If you don’t have the boxing footwork down pat, you’re fucked.

When is Paul going to compete for a title?
Trying to make the most money possible for each fight has necessarily led him towards more dangerous opponents. He stepped out of his comfort zone to fight Tommy Fury and lost. He went back to fighting much older men, culminating in this fight with an aged Tyson.

Talking about titles--seems like diminishing returns if he goes down that route. The public can't--I don't know how many boxing fans can name a cruiserweight world champion. It's not a money class. This upcoming bout is between fighters with a combined record of 72-1. Both guys would happily drop out to fight Paul and make 50x the payday.

I've only seen the Fury fight and if he doesn't protect himself better against Tyson, it'll be a short fight. Paul can take a punch...at 58 I'm not sure Tyson can but that's the only way I see Paul winning is with a lucky haymaker.

I can't say I know how things will turn out but I am envisioning Paul moving, sticking, not remaining in one place for Tyson to attack him. After five-six rounds of that Tyson will be gassed and eventually won't be defending himself. I'm seeing a referee stoppage in the back half of the bout.

If I recall correctly, Foreman fought until he was 48. Expecting anything out of Tyson at nearly ten years older than the famously old Foreman is probably too much.

Every aged athlete says the same thing--the mind sees what's happening and reacts, but the signal to the body to move is too slow, or doesn't register.

Jake Paul's a youtuber right? And Mike Tyson was in that movie with the tiger? I'm not good telling wrestlers apart, sorry.

But these aren’t even “fights”. These are sparring matches or exhibitions. They aren’t sanctioned at all. These are no different than a circus performance. Entertaining, but a shame on the Sweet Science for sure.

I hope Mike Tyson accidentally kills Jake Paul in the ring. That'd be fucking hilarious.
Ouch….I worked a fight years ago when the guy actually died in the ring and they brought him back right in front of our cameras…..that shit was brutal to watch. Hope Tyson knocks that cocksucker out though. But that’s about as far as I’ll go.

First of all that is about 10 seconds of boxing where a guy who is an old MMA fighter got knocked out by what I see as a pretty lucky punch. Jake is not going to hit Tyson with that punch and if he throws it he will get knocked out because he dropped his left to throw it.
Personally I just don't think Woodley compares to Tyson and from what I have read Woodley himself doesn't either. He literally said "He's been in the ring with Paul but would never get in the ring with Tyson even at his age".

Here's the thing I'm reading and hearing from people. They wonder if Tyson can still take the beating. I fought for a few years. Let me tell you taking the beating is not the problem. It's absolutely being able to move out of the way to not take the beating. Can Mike Tyson move still? I can take a punch as well as i have ever been able to still to this day. I just cannot give it and I can't slip punches the way I used to.

Yep. This could be the case. Most assume Tyson needs to end this very early. My money would be on him doing just that.

Given the exhibition nature of this bout, I'd guess Tyson has been instructed not to attempt to end it early.

Here's how Tyson looked about four years ago:

(Jake Paul knocked out Nate Robinson on the undercard)

I shared the clip just to demonstrate it wasn't a fake fight.

For this level of payday the goal should be to get a rematch.

Yeah but I really have a hard time believing Mike Tyson is going to purposely allow Jake Paul to stay in any fight and put himself in a position to be beaten.
There is no way I would do that if it was me. I’d take the fight but I’d tell him from the beginning I’m going to try to beat you.
