Jamal Crawford

I think he is one of the few playing right now that have had 50+ for 3 different teams. I think he did it as a Knick, Hawk and Warrior!

Crawford has always been a good guy and a team player. He's built almost exactly like Michael Jordan 6'6", 185lbs (Jordan weighed 195).

The thing about him is he's VERY streaky. He'll miss 10 shots in a row and he'll make 10 in a row. He's a career .410 shooter, and .350 from 3pt. He's a volume shooter/scorer.

When he misses, it's not by much, though. And when he takes a last second half-court type shot, he hits rim almost every time. The kid has range.

He's probably most famous for his crossover dribble, the kind that breaks ankles. He's incredibly quick for being so tall at guard.

He always wanted to be the PG, but never really got the chance. He's made some of the most amazing passes, and looks smooth handling the ball and passing it.

I like it. We need a little more depth at guard, and Crawford is capable of playing both guard positions (although not a true point guard).

I just think he could play the 6th man role for the Blazers like Jason Terry does for the Mavs

Like Terry's game a lot more though

Crawford is three years younger than Terry, and a bigger guard.

Crawford is younger than Terry ... so I'm guessing we'd want Crawford instead of Terry who is probably a half-year from the glue factory.

What sucks is nobody else has even mentioned this. Thats not too encouraging.

Ok?

Not sure what you're getting at

You don't understand the significance of being three years younger in the NBA? Crawford is 31. Terry is 34.

Crawford is 6'5. Terry is 6'2 (which is probably generous).

All I did was compare their games and that Terry has been a better player than Crawford

Not sure what all the fuss is about

And the height difference really isn't an issue at all. Both playing the role of scoring guard, and Terry gets his shot off whenever he wants pretty much. His pull-u jumper is pretty damn good.

I mean Terry averaged 17.5pts in the playoffs last year on 48% FG shooting.

44% from 3

Paul wants a large market. End of discussion.

Paul's not the only one, guess where Crawford wants to go:

The Post reports that "Crawford's agent, Andy Miller, has been trying desperately for the past 48 hours to broker a three-team sign-and-trade deal" involving the Knicks, Atlanta Hawks, and another team in order to help "find a creative way to pay Crawford his market value." One of the teams Miller has spoken with is the Golden State Warriors, according to the paper.

The team offered Crawford and Barea $2.5 million deals, according to the Post, but both rejected those deals, even though they have interest in joining the Knicks

Can't say I blame him. at 31 and with his skill-set he's worth more than a mini-midlevel deal and he doesn't have a lot of time to screw around waiting to get paid what he's worth.

Doesn't sound very likely he will sign with us, if he wants to join the Knicks but rejected their offer (which is about all we could pay him). I think he'd be a good addition though.

Yeah probably not. Nobody wants to play here.

So would Rudy, but that's not how The Blazers roll.

Oh how I miss this annual discussion about Rudy: http://www.beyondthebeat.net/articl...sa-issue-delays-rudy-fernandez-to-dallas.html

With the Dallas Mavericks signing free agent guard Delonte West to a contract on Monday night, one league source has said Rudy Fernandez will seek a buyout from the Mavericks.

"It would be the best move for both sides," the source said. "Rudy can be free to keep playing in Spain and the Mavs can go about their season with a sound roster."

Fernandez received his visa today and leaves for Dallas on Wednesday, and will likely discuss further options which could eventually include a return back to Spain to play for Real Madrid.

Rudy is absolutely beasting in Spain. He's near his family/gf, and has all the freedom to make mistakes and play flashy, and is flourishing. He's a top 10 player in the league as a result, and is winning too.

No need to go to Texas and be stuck on the bench handcuffed, while his counterparts VC and West take all his minutes.

He's from Renton, WA. So being close to home may be a big advantage for us.

I'm torn on this idea. I'm leaning towards giving the minutes to Matthews, Batum, Williams, and Smith instead of Crawford.
I think Williams is going to be a huge boost this year if given the minutes.

according to alan hahn of newsday its down to pacers nets and blazers.

On Hahn's twitter? I must have missed it.

With Mayo there, I doubt he goes to Indy, plus do they have any money left?

He's in the Seattle area a lot in the offseason. In fact, he was just up there watching Seattle Prep v. Rainier Beach. (#1 v. #3 in the state). Then again, so were Spencer Hawes and Shawn Kemp.

Blow up his twitter account with Blazer love!

Knick fans have that covered. But there is absolutely no way he's going there for 2.5mil, so their efforts are futile. The only reasons we might be in contention are because we're close to SEA, he's close with Aldridge, and we can give him 5mil if we amnesty his good friend Brandon.

Considering his boys are Roy and LA, being from seattle... its kinda shocking he hasn't chosen us after seeing the the remaining teams in the hunt.

Maybe he hasn't gotten interest from portland.

Well I got my fingers crossed. Him and west were and always been blazer killers.

Maybe he's waiting for us to get full MLE.

this team assuming la plays looks very good....

felton/smith (backup pg would be biggest issue)
wes/crawford
wallace/batum
la/wallace
camby/thomas/johnson/oden?

Does this taint Batum and Freeland's success in Europe?

If a player like Rudy can beast over there but only be a scrub here, does it really matter how successful our other players are internationally?
