I actually just cracked on him on twitter! Friend of mine re-tweeted something from him and I tweeted this......

@JohnCanzanoBFT @StefanMarineau: Quit retweeting this tool!

He had to of seen it.

I would prefer having Carl Landry on our roster next season. However, I think he is staying in NO, and was just waiting for the CP3 crazyness to wrap up before inking a new deal. Probably 4 years for $29 million or so.

But lets say we can sign him, he is going to want max MLE, 4 years $21 million. We can get Crawford on a one year contract, between those two options that tilts the scales towards Crawford IMO if we have the choice. Not being locked into a multi-year contract is a huge benefit. Some of our other big MLE acquisitions are guys like Derek Anderson, Ruben Patterson which often don't work out. Crawford's contract has much less downside.

Although either player would be an awesome addition to our bench and I would sign either this second if they were willing. I think both are good values worth more then the price of their contract.

Nothing stops us from making a sign and trade though and it won't matter what we have, as long as we have a player that will make sense. Do you think Camby would work? I think Camby is a better fit for NO than Kaman; then they can use Kaman to grab another player they need.

This paragraph from Quick does not really make sense to me:

“With Sacramento, it’s not just about the money,’’ Crawford said. “They have a lot of young talent, and I’m a big fan of Coach (Paul) Westphal. But with Portland, I feel I can really help in the backcourt by being another creator, another scorer. And I’ve known Nate (McMillan) since I was 16. I’m honestly torn.’’

What is there to be torn about? You are closer to home, you have friends on the team, you have more Vets on the team that you can relate to, (Evan/Cousins or LMA/Felton??) and IMO you will get more minutes. To me it seems an easy decision. So I guess that means he will choose Sacramento..........

In Sacto, he can have more of a leadership role, and he will be able to play at a pace that suits his game better.

Torn because it's an extra 1.5 million, but he's not gonna say that. :)

its def the $$$$ or he would have singed here 3 days ago.

Well, one thing i got from that is that when he plays with their top players and Bibby is the PG, they have a 63% win percentage. But if Crawford becomes the PG, the win % drops to 29%. and those are their two most used five man units so it should be statistically significant.

Also his clutch win % is only 50%, not that good considering the team played better than .500 (44-38).

Well we cant blame the blazer players.... they have tried

Why do people still quote or put links up from anything that clown types! Sorry Fez, don't want to give that hack credit for me going to his website!

Canzano is in his true form today as he writes an article calling Crawford a prima donna while Crawford is deciding where he wants to play.

I hope local media is not a factor in Crawford's decision making or will for sure pick Sac.

I agree with Clownzano on this one. It's a 2-year contract, for chrissakes. Either he wants to win, or he wants to start. Make up your mind, already.

i think he even can opt out which makes it worse.

if this dude picks sac over us, then he is all about $$$. not to mention his boys and family is is here.

Really . . . a couple days to figure out your options is being a prima donna . . . and even it is, welcome to the NBA where players waived threaten to ruin chemistry or fake injury to avoid be picked up on waivers, where training camp is more about stars demanding trades than focusing on the regular season. A player taking some time to decide if they want to play near their home town with a good team for less money or get the biggest contract they can at this stage in his career . . . to me taht is tough choice (I don't think it is about winning vs starting)

What would you do if you were offered 25% (or whatever) more money to work in another city? Would you want some time to think about it? Would you want to rush taht decision? (Not trying to instigate, more just asking . . .)

Worst off season EVER - as witnessed by the fact that we have a 17-page will he/won't he thread on Jamal Fucking Crawford.

Yeah, he'd give us some scoring off the bench, but I'd rather see the minutes go to Elliot Williams to help him develop into an NBA player.

If we're going to spend the money, we need front court help much more than backcourt help. It would be nice to add a big man that wasn't born during the Nixon administration.

BNM

Well, if the money is the same, I'd want to have a chance at winning. Pretty simple decision for me, and throw in that I'm from the NW, and would get to play at least a year in PDX, and the decision would take no more than an hour. I also wouldn't send out cryptic Tweets about how agonizing a decision it is between a garbage franchise in Sacto, and a successful one in PDX.

I think Crawford is being a bit of a diva. That's not a bad thing, but if you're surprised that some people may have that opinion, I suggest that perhaps the issue is with you.

Very nice! At first I thought you were jesting, but quite literally, Camby and Kurt Thomas were born during the Nixon years.

We already offered him as much as we could. The number he WANTS won't mean much.

Still funny as hell, though.

Jersey number, not contract value.
