That’s a chance I’m willing to take

Life is a chance. Im not a fan of the odds of violence improving anything. History shows more often than not, it is a backward step. Not forward.

More often than not its the evil side that wins violent confrontations. We should be careful of what we wish for. More often than not, the grass is NOT greener on the other side.

Sorry, but civility be damned when someone actively supports taking away people's civil rights. @ABM believes it’s his duty to dictate how people should behave and live their lives, justifying this as him “advancing the kingdom of God.” How many millions of people have died because religious zealots like him insisted that they have a godly duty to advance the kingdom of their god? People like him might seem civil and harmless enough, but as long as they support hateful people whose mission is to impose their narrow and cruel worldviews, they're no less dangerous.

I didn't say I agree with his politics, I don't. I'm just saying that the world is f'd because people of different opinions can't talk to each other anymore. But talking his better. Persuade him he's wrong with the strength of your arguments.

As Voltaire said, "I disagree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

You can't argue with someone who has shown over and over again hypocrisy.

Trans people are the boogie man that will sexually assault my wife in the bathroom but go Trump! Grab that Pussy!
That and the counter to anything uncomfortable is "Because Jesus" makes a discussion kind of pointless.

(In Cliff Clavin's voice) "Eh, a little-known fact is that Voltaire then tried to kill that guy."

How do I talk to people who think I should not have any civil or human rights? That I am nothing more than an incubator for any rapist sperm? That I am so evil children would be irreparably harmed even learning I exist?

How do you engage in a debate with someone who will not debate in good faith? Who will lie and conjure up alternative realities to support their arguments? These people will not be appeased with words.

Sounds like you need to take a class from @Phatguysrule, perhaps forum debating 101, or if you're feeling spry one of his advanced 300 level classes.

Either way, who gives a flying fuck if he reached for the wheel and/or the agents neck...those are anecdotal details that shouldn't take away from the undeniable facts that he was pissed off and wanted to go to the Capitol. Typical strategy to try and muddy the waters with nonsense and deflect from the truth.

Nah. He is saying that yall are not even worth debating with, and I happen to agree. Pound sand.

Pretty soon there will be memes with Trump's hands on the grassy knoll.

Trump White House lawyer Pat Cipollone is grilled by January 6 committee for EIGHT HOURS: Lawmaker says attorney did not plead the Fifth Amendment OR contradict other witnesses including Cassidy Hutchinson
  • Trump's former White House attorney testified before the committee all day
  • Panel member Rep. Zoe Lofgren said it was 'grueling' but 'worthwhile'
  • She said the committee even 'gained some additional insight' into Trump and his allies' actions on January 6
  • Cipollone had previously resisted getting deposed, citing privilege issues
  • His decision follows calls by Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) for him to appear
  • It follows former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson's testimony that Cipollone pressed her to keep Trump away from the Capitol on Jan. 6
  • He previously sat down with the January 6 committee in an informal capacity

Actually, I think that showing that the white house council disagreed with the president's response is a tool to remove the idea that it was a proper executive requirement to proceed with the baseless argument. It basically blocks Trump from claiming there was reasonable doubt - and blocks a potential defense if he is charged.

Today they pointed the responsibility directly at Trump and his partners in crime on historical record. He's ground zero refusing his own legal counsel and surrounding himself with bad advise that agreed with his lie. Also protected the tesitimony of Hutchinson .

The committee has Roger Stone’s encrypted messages with the proud boys and oath keepers

The next hearing is next Thursday on prime time.

Edit: fixed for crandc lol
