I see that the Rockets waived Jeffries. It sounds like he'll probably end up back with the Knicks, but I could see him as a viable option for one of our open spots.
Jeffries will not make it to us. Otherwise I would say absolutely get him off waivers. 6'11 240 with skill. What's not to like? Who else can we get better?
What skill? The guy is a career 9.8 PER player. He can't shoot, he can't rebound, he can't shoot FTs, he can't defend, and he can't pass. Plus, he may be one of the most least effecient offensive players of the last 10 years.

Okay, I know with defense there's no simple # that you can run to. But, Jeffries has been a solid defender throughout his career. You should watch him a couple times before you make stuff up![]()
I disagree, and the fact that Houston waived him after losing a legit SF defender (Battier) tells me all I need to know about Jeffries. If Jeffries is such a great defender, why did Houston dump him for nothing?

You can disagree all you want, but you're wrong. Jeffries has been a solid defender throughout his career.
Its the fact that he doesn't do much of anything else is why he was bought out.
I don't think he defends well these days, either. He's a shit player who has played for shit teams throughout his career.
I guess I wasn't aware that there was another Dwight Howard available from the D league.
Knicks signed him and rumors are he could start at the 4.

12th man.![]()

What is scary is that at 6'11"' 240 Jeffries is the close to being the biggest guy on our team.
Hickson is listed at 242 but only 6'9".
Meyers is listed at 220 but I am sure that is wrong. But none-the-less we are a little thin.
Leonard is 7'1 260
But isn't Jefferies thin? I remember him from a long time ago being tall and skinny. Kind of in the Tayshaun Prince / Nic Batum mold. Also remember him as a good defender and as someone with fairly good hands.
The listed weight of NBA players rarely changes unless they have a massive, well documented change.
