bleh. So says Canzano.

Oh well, he's probably better than nothing.

I have no problem with Collins, he can draw charges at least.

Oh, he'll be fine, but I would have like to take a chance on a young, hungry D-Leaguer. It's weird how NBA teams just recycle these vet min scrubs instead of dipping down to the Dleague. I'm sure the talent difference is marginal.

Meh. He'll be fine for 5-10 minutes.

Exactly. You can't expect much else off of the scrap heap this time of year unless you look like one of those "lock" conference championship games type teams (ie. Celtics, Lakers, etc.).

Early in the season, I would have went D-League. For right now, stretch run, and needing a guy to give you spot minutes and basically "not hurt you", I'll take someone that's been around the league a while, to avoid the rookie mistakes.

I'm all for it. We clearly need help at the center position. At the very least this will give us another guy so aldridge/camby don't have to play a ton of minutes.

Exactly. And it's not like we would be building for the future with the un-restricted D league free agent.

That being said, if Miami signs Murphy and Bibby, and decides to cut Dexter Pittman, I'd love for us to sign Collins(or Howard) and nab Pittman as well beyond this season. Liked him in the draft, as a guy to take a flyer on.

I think MIA would rather drop Magloire or Dampier rather than Pittman. He's got some talent.

most likely. Just saw him listed as a possibility.

We have two slots we can fill, right? I'd like a good rebounding PF.

Man the backup PG with a Rudy/Patty hybrid depending on the matchup? I think it could work, and lord knows some rebounding at this point would be handy.

I like the fact of getting Juwan Howard if he becomes available. I am ok with Collins though. I think it is funny that one of our last cuts last year came down to Collins and Howard.

Canzano's tweet was made 14 hours ago, but no signing yet. Is Canzano full of it?

I'd still rather throw a 10-day contract or two at Sean Williams before going to Jarron Collins. Williams...if he's matured, would be a good pickup.

He's wearing Bowie's number. Yeah, that's not a jinx.

Interesting that it's only a 10-day contract

Not like the Blazers' need for another big man is going to go away. Makes you wonder if they really have someone else in mind that hasn't been released or something.
