If the trade really goes through, I'm really gonna miss the guy. I don't blame Kidd for wanting to leave. Thorn wanted to build around him but couldn't. A future hall-of-famer like him deserves to be on a winning team. Jason Kidd was the best thing to ever happen to the Nets. He brought his passion to every game despite conflict with team management, trade rumors, etc., just like a true professional would. I'm gonna miss all the times he would confuse YES commentators on the play that just happened.

He was a favorite to many, like me. He was the image of the franchise. But I knew he wasn't going to be on the team forever. I didn't want him to leave on a poor accord. It's too bad he didn't get a ring or an MVP like he should have with us. I wish for the best with his new team.

I surely will not miss his air balls, but I'm gonna miss the times he does make the three in, then hearing THAT'S A THREE BALL. CORNER POCKET. FROM JASON KIDDDDDDDD! He is one of the best passers the league has ever seen. It was great how loud the crowd got during his introduction..

At the point guard position, The Captain: JASON KIDD!

I posted two videos covering the two Finals. I don't know how to embed them on this forum though.

this is going to sound corny, but I don't care:

I've been a Nets fan all my life. I grew up a Nets fan because my father was a Nets fan since they first joined the ABA. I really remembered the early 90's Nets...Colemen, Drazen, Kenny...I remember them having rough times in the mid 90's until Kidd came.
Kidd came at a crucial time to me. I was in high school, a Junior actually. The Nets, my Nets team I loved all my life, were THE team to beat. They were cool, they had K.Mart and Kidd, Kittles driving to the lane, KVH draining 3's. Kids in the high school started to wear Nets gear, something that was very rare before that!

The 2nd year they made it to the Finals, I was a senior. Perhaps the best times of my life happened that year, but the same goes for the Nets. They were amazing again, more and more people around here started to wear their gear and support them. It was playoffs and Finals time and I was having proms and graduation and graduation parties. The Nets took 2 games from the Spurs, I was having the time of my life in so many different ways.

Fast forward to now. I'm 22, going to be graduating college in December. I'm leaving my current job in May. Clearly, this is a year for HUGE changes for me. And yet, just like in my last years of high school, I can fully relate to Jason Kidd and the Nets. I want out of my current employer. I need a change of scenery. I want to win in this part of my life.

The youth of this year's Nets remind me of the freshmen and sophmore kids who I help out with when they are working on editing videos or audio mixes. It's like, "been there, done that, but let me teach these kids a trick or two before I leave" .
Now, there's new faces on the team, a new era...and I'm expereincing something similar.

I know this sounds stupid. But really, it's just how I feel deep down inside. Each and every one of us have our reasons for following the team. That's just mine.

I would have loved to see it end on a better note, but it is what it is. There were plenty of good times that I'll remember fondly, but I'm looking forward to the change.

I fixed them for you... you just need to take the link and put

but without the spaces in the youtube tag

I kinda had a feeling walking out of the CAA in Game 6 of the 2007 Playoffs against the Cavaliers that this was the end of an era, or it was close to it.

It's a shame it had to come to this.

Probably the last great Kidd moment we all had was when he willed us to victory against the Raptors last year in the playoffs. That was such a huge series for everyone, Vince, the fans, the players. And the fact that they had the better record and home court didn't matter because Jason Kidd was dominant, even when hurt.

I just had a feeling that things would start falling apart after Kenyon Martin and Kittles were traded. We did acquire Carter a few months later, but overall the damage was done. I'm not going to blame the Nets management because they made the right moves with Kittles and Martin. Despite signing different players after 2004, things weren't going to change. The whole Finals era was pretty much dead, and I for one was quick to deny it. And slowly you could tell Jason Kidd was getting more and more upset, and you just knew that things would come to an end soon.

You can attack Kidd for the way he has acted this season, but I'm sure all of you are sad to see him go. Just like ToddMacCulloch11 said, I would have loved if things had ended on a better note, though.

RIP Kidd Era.

Sad to see it end, happy to see a good change after it failed.

I'm going to miss seeing this guy play. He was truly a treat to watch and he made the game better. Only thing that I can do now, is sell my stiched Jason Kidd jersey and be happy he's out of the atlantic.

Wow, thanks Kidd. Screw you. Best of luck. Need to change my avitar now.

Just one comment. Kidd spent a long time playing for the Nets. Is anyone else disappointed that he didn't have the courtesy to state that he enjoyed playing for the Nets, and thank the fans for supporting him? The Raptor fans hate Carter's guts, but he did, in fact, say several times how much he liked playing in front of the fans and thanked them for suporting him throughout the years before and right after he was traded. I can't decide if it is because Kidd is just self-absorbed, self-centered, or has no class. Probably some combination of all three.

You can fault him for that. But like he is on the court in years prior, he let his play speak for itself. But then when you play in front of the crowds we're used to in the Meadowlands, I don't know if he can truthfully say that he enjoyed playing there.

I figured he might talk about it in a oncoming interview or something. Leaving and not even saying goodbye would be pretty low. I'm pretty sure he just hasn't given a minute to thank the Nets and their fans. I don't remember Carter thanking Toronto on the same day he was traded, either.

Should have just let him walk after the 03 finals. Then there would be no mess now.

I don't recall about the day of the trade, but he definitely expressed his thanks for the Toronto fans and organization in the NJ press conference when he was introduced to the NJ media.

I remember I started watching J Kidd for real in the 2002 playoffs. I watched every game and was so amazed at how good he was. He really made basketball fun to watch and his will to win was simply amazing. What he did to the Nets franchise was unreal to me. The Nets were a laughing stock and he made them a legit title contender.

But we can't let the events of the last month or so take away the memories of how much Kidd meant to this franchise. He is the greatest Net I have ever seen play and a hall of famer for sure.

He did so a few days ago when the trade was initially agreed upon. He also praised the management for trying their best

remember his first season here? sigh, the memories

The reason I am here, on this forum, on any forum for this matter, Is because of Jason Kidd... I was a suns fan because of Charles (muthafarkin) Barkley all because of the '93 finals. I was only 9 at the time and at the time the NBA had a much higher profile in Australia, especially in my hometown as Luc Longley grew up in my city. Everyone was on Jordan's jock but I really loved Charles and Kj because they made the game look so freakin nasty. Anyhow Barkley moves on, Kj retires, Thunder goes to the heat... and when I npick up the NBA again a few years later I get to see a dude called Kidd...

The passing, the speed, the rebounding, the inch perfect ally oops... what wasnt fun to watch? He ended up in Noo Jerz and I migrated... I really disliked starbury so I became a net tragic. Anyhow I stumbled across BBB.net and a guy called Petey and a really funny chick called Bizzy Ripsta showed me the fun of being a nets fan. The bipolar optimism/pessimism, the abuse of the coaches, the Collins hating... the whole deal.

I will always miss Kidd to Kmart, Donny Marshall waving the towel, Kidd making Buford/Rogers/Harris/Veal/et al look twice the players they ever could have been without him. He was the best pg I have ever seen and he is the reason I am here.

By the way bitches, Im Jersey for life. **** Mark Cuban.

I miss that team, with Kidd, Kenyon, Kittles.
