Trades: Tyrus Thomas rumor is nonsense. Tyrus's camp may have started the rumor. Blazers don't really mind the rumors, since other teams feel they have all the leverage in that we need a big man, and rumors may force them to rethink. Quick says KP being very aggressive/active, probably the most aggressive in the league.

Says to keep in mind that most of the roster has very small contracts, so when talking about getting someone who makes 10million, it's very hard to make a package that works and is reasonable.

Says KP keeps eye on big picture, knows this isn't the year we'll win it all, and won't make rash decisions. The uncertainty of the CBA and how contracts will be structured is also a factor. Teams really want draft picks right now for the low contracts. Blazers very hesitant to trade those picks. It's a great strength of the Blazer front office to build through the draft, and that's what they're doing. We still haven't see this team play together, so it's hard to judge what exactly we have.

Says Roy told him that Batum is just as important to them winning a championship as himself, Lamarcus, or Oden. Says Batum is beloved by his teammates. His shoulder is fine. Quick thinks Batum may become starter when Roy comes back.

Quick changed his story. The new story is that whenever a player has to go to the bathroom, Pritchard chases after him to see whether he's injured. But then why did Quick report this event as being unusual? Because Pritchard never chases players into the rest room. So why doesn't Quick ask Pritchard what made him suspect an injury this time, but not all the other times? If the rewritten story is true, why wouldn't Pritchard just ask the players why Rudy had left the bench before chasing him like a fool? Or is it routine during a game for players to "bolt" from the bench to the rest room without the protocol of telling a coach? If a player does this, shouldn't he get some criticism from the coach, who needs to know who he has available?

The point is that Quick and Canzano are liars. They hated past management and they love present management, and their reporting has influenced fans to follow suit. Quick also covers for Pritchard with the following statements, which were impossible for Quick to know, and came straight from his best friend's Pritchard's mouth.

Why would Pritchard think that someone who "bolts" as fast as lightning is injured? The revisionist history just doesn't add up. When someone is injured, he goes through pain, the trainer sprays the hurt area, the player is slowly assisted to the locker room.

Why wouldn't Pritchard act like a desk job executive looking for trades instead of acting like a kid who chases people who bolt? He has too much energy left over from talking to Quick all day instead of looking for trades. Do you see any other desk jockey GMs running around during games?

Man, Quick just states the most obvious things and gets credit for them? I think anyone with half a brain would know those things were all true.

I think Jlprk's analysis makes a lot of sense, the KP version doesn't have the ring of truth.

I don't think that I completely agree with KP that now is not the time to make a big deal. If you can add an important piece now who will be around for a few years, then you do it, especially as you have two midsized contracts expiring of players who may not be essential pieces. But next year you will have two larger contracts expiring (Miller, Pryzbilla), and by then they may not be considered very essential. So it's probably better to wait if the piece is not available now.

Also Kp seems to be saying our first round draft pick is very important; I would not let that get in the way of making a deal for an impact addition. Has Kp really done so well with his teen draft picks the last two years? Moving up to get Bayless (and losing Jack) is still doubtful for me. As is the pick of Claver.

Pippen was generally despised by the players, and completely destroyed the team's chemistry with his arrogance toward them and his rudeness to Blazers staff. First-class dick.
