Jason Quick stepping down as beat writer to be a columnist

I wouldn't be surprised if he was requested to be removed as a beat writer when he crossed the line earlier in the season and wrote that "columnist" story telling Rudy his problem could be solved for $2.39 at a local Fred Meyer's by getting some Kleenex and to quit acting like a baby.

I wasn't sure if he would be able to gain back the trust of the team after crossing the line, and I'm guessing they just let him finish out the season.

I loved that line.

I always thought Quick was a columnist masquerading as a reporter, clear back to the $amon days. He's pretty good at writing melodrama, and given the choice between Quick and that douche bag Clownzano, I'll take Jason Quick every single time.

Yeah, for sure. I have my differences with Quick, but compared to Canzano, Quick's the very definition of fine journalism.

I can see how incredible taxing it would get to spend large chunks of your day following and discussing the Trail Blazers - and be paid for it. Oh the horror.

I'm guessing it's the travel during the season that's the biggest bitch. But I mean, who wouldn't love to spend some cold February nights in Cleveland, Minneapolis, OKC and/or Milwaukee.

Yes, no doubt being a columnist is an easier gig. But then so is being retired...

Seeing Quick on the daily will NOT be missed.

I actually kind of liked Quick's Behind the Locker Room Door stories.
Not much else, though.

How much do you want to bet Canzano tries to sue Quick for copywrite violations if Quick writes a story featuring a dying Blazer fan?

I swear The Bald Faced Fool is the worlds only ambulance chasing sports writer.

Repped.
