Who would you prefer the Blazers acquire in a trade this offseason

Yeah, it's Brown. Dame, Shae and Brown on our perimeter would be great.

Same contract status for each........a free agent after next year. Two years apart in age. I like both but a slight edge to Brown.

I'll go against the grain and say Siakam. I think he can do more and would cost less. And for no reason I can point to, I think Brown would be a lot less likely to re-sign with the Blazers

Also went Siakam. I like that we then go dame, Sharpe, Grant, pascal. Bigger than brown at the 3, Grant still at the 4

jaylen brown would cost us shaedon sharpe and thats simply something im not willing to do, as brown isnt really the guy to make us a contender

hes a great player and he can make a boston celtics (without brown, theyre one piece away from contending and brown happens to be that piece) team a contender, but not our team thats nowhere near contending

lakers were nowhere near contending just couple months ago, they look to be now

bubble suns from missing playoffs to nba finals next year

kings from years of irrelevancy to making noise this year

IF they can do it, why can't the blazers?

I agree, I don't want to trade sharpe too. Ant+other non dame players+picks. Who can we get? Depends on who fizzles in the playoffs and becomes available and how lucky we get in the lottery.

Cant vote. If it wasnt a trade idea, then id say brown, but without knowing the costs, this is a silly question.

its like asking whether id like to have a Ferrari or a BMW.

I likely cant afford either….but of course id prefer the Ferrari, but if i can get the BMW for the same as a dodge dart, then i want the BMW. If i have to pay as much for the BMW as I do for the Ferrari, then I want the Ferrari.

So the only answer to the OP is a question.
How much for each? Price dictates everything.

I feel like Siakam is a better defender. Brown is a wonderful scorer. But, to me, Siakam has a more all around game.

I feel strongly they should go after Jokic. Ant plus a couple 2nds... git er dun Joe!

STOMP

Interesting that in the 17 games those two played against each other, their rebounds, points and assists are almost identical.

Being from Portland, I do like a nice rainy day

I'm a native Oregonian. Born and raised here. So, while at times I appreciate the rain; there are times I don't. I usually don't bitch about the weather but these last 2 winters (and springs) have tested my patience (my patience was tempered by living in Juneau, AK for 4 years....that place has shit for weather)

the fires in 2020 and that crazy heat dome in 2021 didn't help either

1. Start with who you think would re-sign.
2. If both, Brown.

Siakam.

He's proven that you can actually run the offense through him. Also, you can have him as a small ball 5. He would provide a versatility that Brown wouldn't necessarily bring. The only drawback is if Grant isn't quick enough to guard 3s.

I think he's more of a 3 than a 4. He's not enough of a rebounder to be a 4.

There's a reason he's played mostly at the 4. I'm not sure he's quick enough to defend the opposing 3s but if the team thinks he can work alongside Siakam, I think that would be great.

In that case, can Siakam guard 3s?

I think Bridges is the # 1 guy on their list. Here's a thing that could be interesting. Say the Blazers get the #1 pick and draft Wemby. Do they re-sign Jeremy, or go after Bridges with Wemby as the 4. Would Ant plus 3 picks net (pun intended) them Mikal in a trade. Nurk , Wemby, Bridges, Sharpe, and Dame. Then work on the bench with key additions like Seth Curry.

I could see a world where Bridges costs more. Locked into a longer contract at an affordable rate, a bit younger. Though, I contend that Siakam is actually better. I thought the idea was to get bigger? Siakam also gives us a backup center. I like either and I think Siakam is a tad bit more likely if they think Grant can play some 3. Siakam can do a lot of what Draymond does in terms of distribution of the ball. I would be happy with either but I'd like to see the cost.

You HAVE to re-sign Jeremy. It isn't a question. You get nothing by letting him go. If I was Brooklyn, I would probably take Ant + 3 or 4 picks plus swaps. Bridges will be 30 by the time they are in any place to compete imo. Blazers could also use a Royce O'neal or Dorian Finney-Smith as well to come off the bench.
