Barely a week goes by when I don’t get a call, email or text advising me of a rumor involving the possible or pending sale of the Portland Trail Blazers. And before we get any further, I will tell you that word from the franchise, from the top down, has repeatedly been that the team is not for sale and that deceased former owner Paul Allen’s sister, Jody Allen, is not interested in selling at this point.

I wonder what changed. Under impression almost certainly was going to be sold.

Sounds like Jaynes only just now learned of Larry Ellison's existence.

LE is another Billionaire that owns an Island or 97% of it, ever here of Lanai?

Ellison has also been tabbed as a potential purchaser of the Seahawks.

Wasn't the rumor that Paul Allen wrote very specific instructions for Jody in regards to the Blazers?

Maybe the instructions were to keep the team until she dies. Or to keep the team for a certain amount of years.

Paul probably knew he was going to die, and i'm 10000000% sure he did everything he can that the Blazers will stay in Rip City after his death. Even IF the Blazers get a new owner, the NBA would never allow that the Team moves to another City, They did not even allow the fucking Kings to leave Sacramento, no way Silver allows the Trail Blazers with one of the best fans in the league to leave Portland. The Trail Blazers have been top 10 in tickets sale for many years, if not top 5, we are also the last North West team in the NBA. That being said, Jody has been a great owner so far, she gives a shit about money if the Team get's better

Paul & Jody would most likely have Bert Koldie as a 1st option? Or maybe Jody's son too.

It was stated fairly early on that Jody Allen had no intent to sale the team and supposedly her brother instructed her not to sell the team.

Yeah i realize that but that’s what I expected them to say. I heard from someone else that it was likely they were going to sell. Maybe the way the season went changed their minds.

The playoff run. You can't help but be caught in it, especially when you are in the trenches like she was.

Ellison has no aversion to supporting his interests by spending big bucks - he has built the tennis facility in Palm Desert into a world class one and the March pro tournament is like a 5th major. My biggest issue is whether he'd keep the team in Portland

Yes, that they were to be bequeathed to the members of S2. Why haven't we recieved the phone call yet?
