Ellison has no aversion to supporting his interests by spending big bucks - he has built the tennis facility in Palm Desert into a world class one and the March pro tournament is like a 5th major. My biggest issue is whether he'd keep the team in Portland

Barely a week goes by when I don’t get a call, email or text advising me of a rumor involving the possible or pending sale of the Portland Trail Blazers. And before we get any further, I will tell you that word from the franchise, from the top down, has repeatedly been that the team is not for sale and that deceased former owner Paul Allen’s sister, Jody Allen, is not interested in selling at this point.

I don't ever remember reading about who the investment groups vying to buy the Celtics were. If my memory is serving me, most of the time these multibillion dollar acquisitions stay pretty buttoned up until the announcement of who is actually buying the team. Sure there will be a ton of articles and reporting that are educated guesses and probably will have the eventual owner named but "legit news" on this stuff just doesn't tend to happen... these aren't NBA front offices they're the ultra rich and know how to keep things buttoned up with NDAs and what not. No super billionaire or collection of high power investors wants to be seen as outbid.
