Yeah, I mentioned "terrible drafting" in my post. I was too lazy to list each bad draft pick. ;)
I saw that after I posted. I'm on drugs (shoulder surgery) and typing is a chore, so that's my excuse. :pimp:

I strongly suggest you listen to the interview he gave on the MSP yesterday morning (link above) the guy sounds like his consulting business, brokering stadium deals and the sale of minor league sports franchises, is going well and frankly he sounds happy as hell. I don't think he was a great NBA executive by any means, but neither do I think he's exactly pushing hard to get back into the league.

I found that interview to be very enlightening. Clearly Patterson was comfortable enough with himself and his situation to talk freely about his experiences as a president for the Blazers. The way he characterized Ruben and the troubles he had trying to move him showed he wasn't holding a lot back . . . and was funny as hell.

I think a lot of what he said during that interview was not made to keep up a certain image or a person towing the complany line . . . a refreshing interview that gives good insight to the inner workings of an organization.

I heard Patterson. I still can't stand the guy, and I know people that worked under his reign of terror.

I wonder how he lives with himself, considering he shit-canned some good people for no good reason.

Now, with this article, and Patterson suddenly showing up in interviews, it's clear that the Steve Patterson image rehabilitation tour is in full effect. I wonder what the douche's angle is this time?

Really, that's what you got out of the interview? I don't think you get a job opportunity knocking in the NBA if you rip on ex NBA players and give a feel for the inner workings of an organization.

I came across with the exact opposite feeling (not saying I'm right) . . . there is guy who isn't looking for a job in the NBA, and because of that, gave a very free flowing interview . . . but who knows, he might have some angle on this.

(The biggest part that jumped out at me is when he said if Ptd didn't have PA, this organization might be looking to move to a bigger more viable market . . . i don't think that is someone pushing to be the next president of the organization)
