ahahhah "THESE REFS SUCK!"

is back.

Boy... they were absolutely horrible tonight as well. I didn't see the Denver game but the refs were absolutely killing the flow of the game the entire night. It was embarrassing. Add to that how crappy the Blazers played, it was one of the worst games I've ever attended.

Went to the game, few thoughts:

-I really focused on Miller and Roy's body language during warm ups. It was good, professional and friendly. They exchanged a few words during lay ups and gave each other fives while crossing for apparent reason. They were interacting . . . if thier is any animosity there, they hide it very well. (I was concerned Brandon might be in a funk because he thinks he can't play with Miller)

-I also think Brandon plays well with Miller . . . or it's not Miller and his shots that is slowing Roy from posting big numbers. Miller goes out of his way to look for Roy and although he took a lot of shots again, he doesn't come across as a ball hog.

-Having said all that, I'm not that impressed with Miller . . . (but there wasn't any Blazer to be impressed with tonight). He is defintely a PG and really looks to create for his teamates (that's good), but he isn't that quick and seemed 2 steps slow compared to Williams (maybe not fair to compare to Williams, but he did look very slow compared to him). Again, I'm hoping I caught him on a bad night . . . but I see the Blazers thinking with a short term contract.

-Roy . . . can he flip the switch? I think he can. When he looks determined, he can flat out score, but he isn't making his presence know much out there. He needs to demand the ball and take over the offense, IMO . . . and I think he will when the season starts

-other random thoughts, this board is too hard on Outlaw and Joel . . . funniest sign was some hot chick in a Rudy jersey "Rudy gives me back spasms" with a large heart . . . I think Batum grew taller this summer . . . why are other teams stars playing and lighting it up while Roy and Aldridge play disappearing acts

Ditto. That game was atrocious. If the NBA were to use these refs throughout the regular season, they'd have a big problem on their hands.

Nobody wants to go to a game to watch a free throw shooting contest.

Suns win 143-127 with 56 FT attempts. Kings had 26 FT attempts.

Sergio in 8:42 had 1 rb, 4 ast, 1 pf, 1 to and was 1 of 4 Kings with a +(3).

Sergio had 1 less assist in 8:42 than Blake, Bayless and Miller combined had in 58:24.

Wow.

Thanks for the update. 4 assists in 8 minutes vs. 5 assists in 58 minutes. You are right--wow.

Yeah, they seriously bought into every flop, every fall and every slightest bit of contact there was out there. I never would've thought we'd miss a ref crew that would have Steve Javie, Violet Palmer and Leon Wood.

FUCK! If we keep playin like this, we will NEVER make the Pre-Season Playoffs!

Hiya Kiss. You're falling for the media's influence. Roy's few words about Miller were an answer to a Jason Quick provocation, so Quick could sell papers...There was an article a couple of months ago that said that Batum has grown something like 3/4 of an inch between being measured for the NBA draft and being measured for the Europe games this summer.

Well I just got back from the game, I bailed at halftime it was so fugly. I have seen most of the preseason games, and I have to say, that outside of Roy, Aldridge and Oden (and probably Rudy even though he really hasn't played), this team actually is not very deep. People like to talk a lot of shit about our young players, but I am not sure that any of them have improved at this point. Right now this is Roy and a bunch of scrubs vs Utah.

Set free as individuals, these guys don't know how to play. Wins depend upon McMillan's regimentation, and right now, he doesn't have it together. It's all a projection of his mind, a top down rather than bottom up meshing of individual efforts. That's why Rudy is lost and Sergio couldn't survive. The guys who know how to merge individual talents together feel lost in a system requiring such micromanagement from the coach.

"Depth" is more than just potential. It's experience and results.
