I was hoping he would get the job years ago but other opportunities came up before the Rangers had a spot for good ole JD. The guy bleeds Rangers blue and should be a great addition with Gorton already killing it at GM.

Hard not to be excited about Kravtsov at least as much as KK when you look at how fluid he is. Kid's got a great personality too.

SB nation reported that a trade that would have sent CK to Colorado for their 1st round pick in this year's draft fell through when the Avs refused so it appears Gorton is shopping CK.

I can't really get over teams are talking about 12-13m for Panarin. Doesn't seem he's worth more than 10m but maybe that's the going rate. I'd offer 7/75 tops if I'm the Rangers.

You can thank the assholes in philly who gave out that hayes contract.

Philly did this years ago with Carter and Richards. They are morons who should be horsewhipped.

I don’t think philly will affect gorton’s Offer. He will offer what he thinks he’s worth and if it’s not good enough he will move on and not get in a bidding war. The team that should be desperate for panarin is the isles who are offensively inept

It drives up the price for all players that are on par or better than hayes.

Is hayes better than kreider? No...so now kreider is going to get more.

Looks like Zuccarello likely isn't staying in Dallas. Bummer.

No moves this week to shed cap space tells me Panarin is not coming. I expect him and Bob to go to Florida. I am good with that, but Gorton needs to make some moves to improve. This cannot be another July 1 we do nothing like last year. Let's improve the team, and we can be a legit playoff contender.

Some moves have to happen at some point with Smith, Shattenkirk, and either signing or dealing Kreider. And we'll see on Names and Vesey.

I was thinking what if they didn’t sign AP and went after Corey Perry, Joe Pavelski, Matt Duchene, etc Instead?? Could keep Kreider if that’s the move

Work on extending Kreider, deal off one of VN, Vesey, Strome or Fast, buyout Smith and maybe go after a Dzingel or Nyquist. Anders Lee would be a burn to the Isles. I would steer clear of Perry with his age and injuries.

Panarin not coming, we know that now. Sounds like Florida, but could be the Isles. Interesting for NY tradition if Panarin goes to the Isles.

Durant passes on Knicks for the Nets. Panarin passes on the Rangers for the Isles. Turning of the tide in NY maybe.

Gorton better get something done. If he has a wasted sh*t July 1 like last year I will not be happy. Time to wake up and let's get to work Gorton. Enough with this wait game stuff. You have come this far with the kids and Trouba. Supplement the team now so we can be a playoff contender next season. Wake up bro.

The next few years of FA suck really bad so anything would have to be through trade after this summer. If the Devils don't keep Hall i guess they could take a run at him.

Not sure what your talking about chuck. So far post season gorton has drafted stud kakko, traded for number 1 RD trouba and got kravtsov and sherry over from Russia. The man is building a solid team and for what he wants panarin can go to isles or Florida. Be patient for once and stop looking for the quick fix. Gorton knows what he’s doing

I'm surprised Panarin would consider the Isles over the Rangers with a 1m< difference at best, when he's stated he'd like to be a Ranger, plus now Bob is in Florida. You'd think he would either go to Florida or the Rangers, or it could be a ploy to get more $$ out of Gorton.

He is not coming here. Once we got through Friday with no cap savings moves that was virtually a lock.

As for Gorton, I have loved what he has done thus far. With that said you cannot come this far and let July 1 go by with nothing done again, just cannot. It is now time to supplement the kids with 1 or 2 smart vet signings. We do that and we'll be a playoff contender next season. Do nothing again and we will not be a playoff team next season.

Be patient, I was 100% on board with that approach and it has worked well with all the picks/kids we have stockpiled, but now is the time to smartly supplement. You cannot sit around and wait and wait for too long. Go ask the Oilers, Isles, Leafs, and so on how that works. Let's get work done and supplement the kids now Gorton.

Lehner out for Varlamov. Lee out for Panarin. The Isles win those moves. Not sure they are SC type moves, but they are better for them, and are in the mix for a run for sure. Even at 11.5 per Panarin is a big get at 28.

If Lou was their GM instead of Snow they would have been a real threat with all those high picks and Tavares. Lucky for the non-Isles fans the inept Snow was running the show.

Apparently Columbus made a last ditch offer of 8/96m. Probably will go to the wire but it dosen't seem he would want to go back to Columbus either way. I could see the Rangers going up to 12m.

12 mill?? This guy is not mcdavid and that would be a big overpay

The reality of the situation has always been that the Rangers couldn't afford Panarin, Trouba was a better move. Until they weigh Hanchor the Rangers aren't going to do much. All Gorton can continue to do is shed Sather's awful contracts. I'd rather have CK back than Panarin.

There’s A LOT of dead weight contracts on this team. Staal, Smith, Hank, Shatty. That’s a lot of money tied up in players who just aren’t worth what they’re making. I wish the Rangers could buy out Hank’s contract more than anyone else’s as his contract from day one was a bad signing. We paid him all that money for what he had done, not for the future. He’s a good 2-3M overpaid and with his declining skill (yes, even with a porous D in front of him Hank’s skills are VERY MUCH in decline) there’s zero chance of trading him, even if he waived his NMC.

I don't think Lundqvists skills are all that much in decline. Once the team was bound to be non-playoff and the poor D around him stunk, he loses a little focus but i think he will have a much better year. He's still in great physical and mental shape.
