Whoever is mocking this deal has not seen the MPjr, Gordon Hayward deals, would have been nice to pay less, but this is the range for vetran SF/PF starters on team that do not want to tank.

Wish it was cheaper, but if the team wants to keep Dame, market correct is about as good as one can hope for.

My speculation... if he prioritizes winning a championship over playing in Portland where that isnt happening anytime soon, much better to go nearer the trade deadline. At that point he can better choose a destination with a team that is healthy, clicking and just needing him to push them over the top.

I get it ... it's the Portland tax combined with the keeping Dame tax that has this deal at 160 million. It's an overpay, and even might say a gross overpay but it is what it is. The good news is he's only 29, so the final year of the deal will have him at 34 and hopefully the TV deal makes this a moveable contract in year 4.
