When a new ownership group comes into a business one can expect some changes That being said Jeters group was going to make some changes down there with some getting him some bad press. An article written about Conine and Mc Keon being released stated it was Jeters revenge for the '03 World Series. I took the article as sour grapes, new ownership had other priorities. The latest over the scout recovering from Colon Cancer Surgery and awaiting an organ transplant being let go was not good PR either. In both of those cases someone below Jeters level was directed to take care of business, Always respected Jeter and still do as a man with total class but for some reason according to local media he's allegedly winning friends and influencing people.

You see this a lot with generals and admirals in the military...

They may be smart people with good priorities and a vision for what needs to be done, but if their staffs are composed of clowns and self-proclaimed 'gatekeepers', the product suffers. And part of the leadership's job is to know that's happening.

May I also say that municipal government works the same except when the #1 hears of a dissatisfied condition then sharpens his blade for use on your neck. Mid level supervisors are the worst as they are cut throat and like to throw people under the bus..

Fully aware of the Chain of Command Issues being a Navy Brat for 18 then My own Service in the U.S. Army for 23. Yep the Flag Officers delegate the tasks of "Troop Management" to Field and Company Grade Officers. with the Chiefs and Sergeants making sure it gets done. Jeter I understand is in the same position so the task of reliving or firing if you like is the job of the mid liners. Marlins Staff Personnel should have know change was going to come, new ownership new ideas some folks will have to go. I could not figure how the media came up with departures of Conine & McKeon as revenge for the '03 World series. Pretty sure that had Jeter been aware of that scouts condition the matter would have been handles differently. The man himself commented that Jeter did not owe him a thing. There will be more changes coming for the Marlins I'd be certain, just don't the media wants to jump right on the bad press.
