We made a bowl game for the first time in years. I would say we are on the upswing with a good young coach that has ties to Corvallis and won't up and bounce.

Sorry we don't have daddy Phil to spread his love all over our football program.

Uncle Phil donated money to keep Pat Casey at Oregon State and has donated a lot of money over the years to both Oregon State and Stanford. Not sure the vitriol towards the guy from Beavers fans.
 
I have many relative who are Beaver alums or fans. All of them wish nothing but the worst for the Ducks which makes it hard for me to root for the Beavers.

A high school baseball teammate won a CWS with the Beavs so I’ve rooted on their baseball teams hard in the past. Jonathon Smith is very likeable.

I just find their fans to be obnoxious haters is all:

As a die hard Duck my whole life who roots for the Beavs as long as they aren’t playing my Ducks….. I have to ask why Beaver fans have this mentality. The ducks were never brought up. This is a thread about our Beavs. Why mention the Duck program. It’s like how every single NON- IPhone commercial or android advertisement, they mention the iPhone. Why?

A duck fan came in here talking shit trying to get a reaction from a Beavers fan.

That's why. Ducks have some of the most arrogant fans. Beavers fans don't want your sympathy rooting bro.

I don’t consider in sympathy. I’m born and raised Oregonian. I root for our schools. But if anybody cracks on the Ducks, my first reaction isn’t to shit on the Beavs in anyway. I grew up going to games with my day early to mid 80s. Basketball and football every week. Got our ass handed to us in both every time. Just couldn’t ever see myself rooting against an Oregon college.

It’s a rivalry though. That’s how it’s supposed to be. Huskies fans used to be that way too…. Until the ducks owned them for like 10 years.

you are painting all Duck fans with way too broad a brush. And you've done it in this forum a lot. So maybe you should point out which Duck fans here are arrogant over and above normal trash-talking. There are arrogant assholes in every fanbase by the way. I've seen a lot of bitter sore-loser Beaver fans in my time. They do seem to be the majority but that could just be the ones I run into.

I mean, I understand where the bitterness comes from. All us Duck fans do. The Ducks have won 8 outright Pac-12 championships in the last 25 years. They have won 6 Pac-12 championships in the last 13 seasons. They have won the last 3 Rose Bowls they played in, and they have been in the conversation for the national championship quite a bit over the last 20 years. Mariota has won the Heisman. Oregon is 12-2 in the civil war over the last 14 years, and 35-11 in the civil war since 1975. So yeah, beaver bitterness is understandable especially after you all were expecting Roses and a conference championship in 2008 until the Ducks curb-stomped the beavs 65-38 in Parker Stadium. I know that hurt

and in case you're missing it and confusing it for arrogance, that paragraph above was some trash-talk because of you painting all of us Duck fans with the same brush. Generalizations are fun I guess

I know that. I am a born-and-raised Oregonian. I was actually close to going to OSU right out of high school. But I wnt to the UofO and the deciding factor was a stat: in 1970, the OSU student body was 68% male. The UofO student body was 58% female. The math was just too compelling. That's how fucking shallow I was. I actually went to a Vietnam protest to try and meet chicks. Tear gas was bad ambience though

I'm always a little pissed the morning after the Ducks lose a game. And it's been a real rough month so far for the Ducks. And I don't think the bleeding has stopped yet.
