I think once he gets back into a grove he can be a dominate reliever again...unfortunately how the yanks jerked him around with the joba rules..then starter..then reliever..followed by unfortunately injuries he is a mental midget.

And that Al, that would be the indictment that so many of us have with player development. Look, Joba's not the sharpest tool in the box, but they totally fucked with this kids head. In turn, he wasn't smart enough to get in peak condition, relying on his golden arm only. Well at least he didn't throw a punch and end his career. In closing, I wouldn't be surprised to see him rebound, 95-96 is still cheese. If he was to ever have the light go on up in the attic he would be a different type pitcher.

Just saw this deal verified per MLB a few minutes ago. Rosenthals comments was "Yankee fans must be wondering what is going on" I don't know about anyone else but I'm glad he is gone. I can see Joba picking up his guitar, twanging up an E chord and belting out "Home folks think I'm big in Detroit City"

...95 - 96 mph doesn't work when it has no movement and is not located properly, especially if the batter has a good idea of what's coming...and that was Joba's problem. I think he was simply yet another flash in the pan and I don't think he'll ever amount to anything.
