LOL at people against Salmons for Frye. I roll my eyes at you.
Logjam at SF? HA! The Blazers have Batum at SF and NO ONE ELSE.
Frye hasn't played in a couple months. This is as big of a no brainer trade as you can get.
I also don't think it's real.
If you trade for him, you might as well slash the value of Batum/Webster/Outlaw.
I'm guessing Webster has no value. Outlaw would continue as a backup 4. Batum would suffer, but we don't need his value to be high. We just need him to gain strength and skills.
But he wouldn't really get his 14 shots/game up here as a 3rd option,
None of the guys we are talking about adding (Butler, RJeff, VC, Amare, etc) would likely get their same touches, so that's not something we can really worry about when trading IMHO.
Salmons is a great scorer who's shown an ability to improve year-to-year. This conversation seems a lot like people in the summer slamming a guy like Mo Williams who was a solid player on a crap team. Once he gets traded to a winning system, he was huge upgrade.
Salmons is a scorer though. SImilar to Outlaw, if he isn't getting his shots and scoring what is he going to do for us? And I was very high on Mo Williams.
You'd give Trout 10mpg? Would you cut Batum or Webster out of the rotation (If Web's comes back)?
PF: Aldridge 32; Outlaw 16
Aldridge/Roy 32 minutes = FAIL.
You won't survive.
Outlaw will have to hit the road in another deal with Raef's contract.
Regular Season:
Aldridge and Roy 32 minutes: Long career with fewer injuries
However, we are only talking four minutes. Take four from Travis for Aldridge and some of Batum's minutes for Roy. The point is that there are enough minutes for the key players and all the rest are injured, too young or only good for the forth quarter.
What up with Nate not playing Channing Frye at all this season. I assume Oden is taking up Fryes minutes. Fry had a great year last year. I have always been bummed that Frye isn't playing.

Is a marginal upgrade worth pissing off our players? I tend not to think so. If were going to make an upgrade, make it BIG, Carter, RJ, Wallace, etc.
dont u remeber what jon barry said of frye lol......
"worst 24 seconds a player has had in nba history"
frye never played again...for a while
I think the speculation that it will piss anyone off is way too tenuous to be a factor. Salmons would start at small forward. Batum would back him up, which was the expectation from the start. Outlaw will take all the backup power forward minutes.
Webster isn't even worth considering, since his return gets pushed back further and further. Pritchard can revisit the small forward position in summer, perhaps make a deal to clear it out a bit.
Frye for Salmons is a total steal in terms of talent. I didn't want Salmons for RLEC and Outlaw, but I'll take him for basically free.
I'd also like to "swing for the fences" and get a big star...but that may not be an option.
we really dont have a choice... we are losing games cause our starting SF cant score. i dont car ehow good his defense is.... you cant have you starting SF in the nba get 5 points a night and beat good offensive teams. if we had a great PG...batum could start but with sergio starting..its a problem. blake hid batums offensive problems cause blake would get you 14-17 a night.
batum and sergio should never start unless you have studs at the other 4 spots
If you can trade Frye and maybe a second round draft pick to get Salmons, or make it Diogu and Frye
I think Salmons stock is higher than is being considered around here. I think it would take throwing in Sergio or a 1st rounder to get a Salmons deal done. Still a cheap price.
Salmons would be GREAT at that price. I say get him, and then do the RLEC/Outlaw/etc for a point guard and a backup four. Gravy.
