Hmm, shved for 3.3. Roy for 5. And...no cap space to make an offer anywhere near 11 million for batum.

Which would seem to mean that either the Blazers have agreed to a S&T with the Wolves or have told them to pound sand. Guess we'll find out soon.

Haha, if you are putting your faith in the Wolves ruining their chance to sign Batum based on signing a prospect from Russia you are in for a major disappointment. Remember what I said... Expect to lose. You can start now.

Please enlighten us, oh cap-ologist in the ways that Minnie can actually make room to offer Batum that 11million rumored.

Both teams are rebuilding. Minnesota is just doing a better job of it.

Nah, the Blazers were in playoff mode and then crashing into rebuild mode. The Minnie Wolves were in rebuild mode, moving into playoff mode. Different situations.

It depends on how much Minn makes the contract for? If they do offer 11.25+ then we will lose if we match IMO and win with anything good from a S&T or just letting him walk. I hate to tell Wolve fans but we are in he drivers seat and can decide what is best for us and you can only hope to get Batum. If you get him it will be way way way over paid. So, it's bad with anything you could possible do with Batum.

I trust you, because nobody knows losing like a Timberwolves fan.

Oh boy, you really got me on that one! Ouch, that hurt. Boo hoo!

Who cares, I love my team and have seen 90% of the games over the past 3 years. You would do well to head my advice and use some common sense.

Is there still a chance that Portland matches? Sure, but it sounds like your GM is starting to wonder if that is really a good move for the future of the Blazers/

Maybe, if you do end up getting Batum. On the other hand, if they miss on Batum, Roy's knees flame out, Rubio's not quite up to what he was, and Love demands a trade next season after yet another missed playoffs...

What's to match? Let's see your dumps first. We can't match anything until you dump some players, then make an actual offer.

It is a good move for the franchise to let you guys have him in a S&T. Just not for garbage

Portland started rebuilding 2 weeks ago, and will probably still have a better record after next season than the 23 year rebuilding Wolves

LOL, no kidding. POR's knee curse has traveled to Minny with out players apparently. I wish Rubio well but who knows how he'll come back from his serious injury, Roy's knees are a disaster waiting to happen again, you better hope to heck it goes well or Love is gone and you'll be rebuilding for another 23 years.

I am not pretending to know what the Wolves are going to do. Yes on paper it looks like they are up against the cap, but I have faith that the Wolves are not going to make a fool out of themselves promising all these players money when they don't have it. In the history of the NBA I have never heard of such a thing happening. If it does happen, I will come back here apologize and admit that I was wrong. If it doesn't happen I will come back here and expect to hear all of your apologies and your admittance that you were wrong.

Minnesota is doing such a good job of rebuilding that two days ago Kevin Love came out and said he's losing patience.

Fair enough. Match the offer then and be done with it. Having anything other than garbage offered in a S&T is the only other option. Plain and simple.

Here are your choices:
1. Match the offer and Pay Batum $11+ Million per year.
2. Let the Wolves have him get a Late 1st round pick and some expiring contracts.

There is no option 3.... those are the options.

I think the Wolves could get under the cap enough to make the offer for these guys but I believe some of the players mentioned that they will waive/amnesty etc are almost as good as the players they might get. If they don't end up getting Batum it will do more harm that any chance of getting Batum. IMO is a very long shot of getting Batum and I wish we would just let him walk or do a S&T but I doubt that we will.

I will apologize (admit I was wrong) if we trade Batum for your garbage.

Otherwise, what's for me to apologize for? This post of mine you responded to was simply giving you FACTS. Minne has work to do before they can offer Batum anything. Until that happens, there is nothing to match.

sure. First the wolves have to somehow get 11 million in space.

You do realize who your GM is right? I mean it's not like David KAAAHHHHHHHNNNNN has the best track record? The fact you put your trust in him seems to be very telling.

I would add, you guys have been "re-building" for the better part of your existance now and have only a short window of any kind of relevance in this league. So if there's any team that knows the ins and outs of a rebuild it would be wolves fans.

You are not really paying attention are you.

I will keep it simple for you, here is all you need to know: Expect to lose.

Learn it, embrace it, Live it. You will thank me later.

No, you should expect top lose. The Blazers are in a no lose situation unless they fuck it up someway.

Again, there is no offer to match because you guys don't have the money to offer him

Wolves must be pretty confident in something - Batum match, or Batum S&T, or ability to move at least two players in separate deals.

Yes, Kahn has made some mistakes, however, he is a lawyer, lawyers know fine print better than anyone. Hear me now and believe me later. The Wolves will be able to sign everyone they are rumored to be signing.

Embrace it:

Wolves lose 21 of their last 26 games with a healthy Kevin Love at the helm.
The Wolves only reached .500 eight times in their 23 years of existing.
Average attendance rank since coming into the NBA: #23

Learn it.

Love it.

Embrace it.

Think about it.

Well then there you have it... from the writers you so worship. He is saying in no uncertain terms. The Wolves must know what they are doing.

Spoken to a team with as many consecutive playoff appearances as Minnesota has had total seasons

Exactly. I speak from experience. That is why I am trying to help you. I feel sorry for what is ahead for you and all Blazer fans.

I think they absolutely do know what they are doing. I think they are trying to get the Blazers to take crap for Batum or lose him. I also think the Blazers know what they are doing which is calling their bluff because they don;t have 11.25 to offer him right now. Then both teams will say if you want Batum this is what it will cost, and the other will say ok and both will be happy
