So the line of reasoning is Nic's agent (and or Khan) came up with the ficticious figure because they knew if it was lower the Blazers would match for sure? So the hope was by saying it was 45-50 million the Blazers would back off and go another route? But the Blazers called their bluff and Nic's Camp is now trying the sympathy card with the media.

So now Minnie has to ante up so we take a sign and trade, or Nic signs a one year deal. A one year deal now makes more sense to me if the 45 million was never on the table.

If that's the case, just re-sign Nic, and trade him to another team of his liking in December, or wait a year and deal him to any of the other teams in the league

If Williams is untouchable, who else do they have to deal?

If Portland bends to Minne's bluff (they have no way to sign Batum without our help), then let's not wait the year out (like they did with Cho).... Let's just fire Olshey now.

I think after he got there, he was hurt, and Minnesota tried to get compensation, saying we sent him there knowing he was injured.

Derrick Williams doesn't excite me in the least. That being said, I'd rather take him than anything else from Minne that's available.

But I still would rather sign Batum (whether to the QO or matching) and deal with him later.
