Jrue Holiday trade ideas

Why do you think I haven't seen anybody call him CP? Think about it angry guy.
No different than the people that type "LBJ" for LeBron.....because nobody calls him that. No rocks here.
Example.....can't believe we traded DL today. See it just doesn't work.
To be fair, I’ve heard LeBron and Dwayne Wade call him CP on numerous occasions.

Given Jrue has said he only plans to play two more seasons, I can't see any young team trading for him, so we've got to narrow the list to win-now teams that need an upgrade at PG:

Boston, Philly, Miami, LAC, and LAL are the first that come to mind.

Spurs won't have any interest. Golden St already has two PGs.
Contenders willing to give us young bench players and picks? Maybe OKC?

Figuring out which contender has a surplus of young bigs(Forwards) is the first step.

I really like the Kuminga idea, whoever said it. Not sure what kind of 3way would work, GS needs bigs correct?

I can't see OKC mortgaging their future for 2 years of Jrue.

To me, our best bet is try and trade Jrue to a team who's window is closing fast for salary filler and a couple picks down the road. The hope would be that the picks come after their window closes, and as ours is starting to open up, giving us some young talent on a rookie contract.

Jrue Holiday should bring back tons of value. Arguably the best guard/perimeter defender in the league. He actually shot the 3 at a better % than Dame the last 3 seasons. He’s the same age as Dame.
You make an interesting point. Some NBA experts believe Milwaukie is not that much better after the trade. Lillard is a better scorer, yes, but Holiday is a much better defender, and he still scores 20 points a game.

Just hope there are some contenders out there that have enough disposable assets to send back.

So

Boston
Philly
Miami
Brooklyn
Toronto
LAL
LAC

Am I missing any contenders that would love Jrue Holiday?
I mentioned OKC above....they are in a post to move up into the playoffs, he'd be perfect.

yes. i was only going 2 yrs out
I actually think picks 2026 and on are going to be the most valuable to us. Imagine having Scoot and Shae just entering their prime in 3 years and having an extra 1st (maybe lottery) every now and then even when we are challenging for HCA.

wait, does Fanspo have it wrong? Spotrac says Herb is only trade eligible on 12/15.

nvm. :(

I mean, that's kind of how Boston got going.

just a hunch, but i feel like we never were interested in OG given his FA status.
If that’s the case, then I’m starting to come around to him even more.

This forum was giving me a heart attack with the OG crap lol.

They have like 35 future picks. They have like 4 or 5 next year alone. They're already cutting recent traded for 1st rounders. They don't have the space for all their picks. They can easily trade us like 8 picks(obviously unrealistic!) And be mortgaging nothing

new orleans apparently. herb jones is trade eligible on 10/4. if Herb becomes available, NO would jump to #1 for me. He's the absolute perfect fit at SF for us in this next iteration.
I would love Herb Jones too. Not sure how to make the money match without including CJ.

Herb would be a home run for sure. Cost controlled for a whole 4 seasons at a steal. Scoot + Ant + Herb + Grant + Ayton starting with Shae off the bench is a crazy lineup for a ‘rebuilding’ team.

Olshey would say “we’re just re-tooling” lol.

CBA question - I understand that Jrue can be traded immediately but only by himself.

Can we only take back a 1 for 1 deal?

Not that they would do it, but if I'm OKC, I offer up a chunk of the draft cache. FFS, they have 8 (!!) picks over the next 2 seasons.

I'd start throwing out some of those picks to Portland, to see if they'd bite.
