Jrue Holiday trade ideas

They have like 35 future picks. They have like 4 or 5 next year alone. They're already cutting recent traded for 1st rounders. They don't have the space for all their picks. They can easily trade us like 8 picks(obviously unrealistic!) And be mortgaging nothing

If OKC's goal it to help us being giving us picks and cut down on SGA's minutes, then I suppose it's possible.

I'm going to bet they won't be trading for Jrue though. I hope they do though!

I think that if the trade goes official as-is, then Jrue can't be delt in an aggregated trade for 2 months per the CBA. I'm guessing they are working the phones trying to get him moved in the main transaction to avoid this?
Not an issue. Portland can take back ~$40M in contracts just by sending Holliday out. There's no need to aggregate his salary

Good one. Not sure how that money works though

Yeah, it would be tough. Too bad because they have an abundance of SFs. But to get to Jones, Nance's contract would need to be added along with two more players. (i.e Lewis/Daniels)

no. we have to only send out Jrue alone. Can take back how many ever players as long as salaries match
And actually, we can send out other players with him as well, as long as the pieces being exchanged could also be done separately. There are very few potential trades that the aggregation rule would prevent.

Bos send us a 1 and GS a 1. We flip Brog for whatever.

Not that they would do it, but if I'm OKC, I offer up a chunk of the draft cache. FFS, they have 8 (!!) picks over the next 2 seasons.

I'd start throwing out some of those picks to Portland, to see if they'd bite.
Ousmane Dieng would be a nice guy to take a flier on.

You make an interesting point. Some NBA experts believe Milwaukie is not that much better after the trade. Lillard is a better scorer, yes, but Holiday is a much better defender, and he still scores 20 points a game.

reading Milwaukee fans, they are pretty convinced it wasn't their defense that has failed them the last 2 seasons and playoffs, it was their offense

new orleans apparently. herb jones is trade eligible on 10/4. if Herb becomes available, NO would jump to #1 for me. He's the absolute perfect fit at SF for us in this next iteration.

they don't have the salaries unless they send CJ...or Jones + Nance + Lewis + Daniels; which they wouldn't do, IMO

There's a lot of truth to that. They had no one outside of Giannis who was a threat, and even with that, Giannis can't create for himself like Damian can.

How do we feel about Kuminga? Sounds like he and Chris Paul can be sacrificed along with additional pieces for Holiday.

If Holiday is traded to the Celtics, I very much prefer the ‘26 and ‘28 unprotected 1sts, and a pick swap in ‘27 added would be even better.

There is a scenario where we are very good by ‘26-‘27. I know that eventually, that 1st will convey, but we would be smack dab in the backcourt’s prime with these picks:

‘26: unprotected BOS 1st, assume our 1st goes to CHI (1)
‘27: the better of a BOS/POR 1st (1)
‘28: BOS unprotected 1st, the better of a MIL/POR 1st (2)
‘29: unprotected MIL 1st, POR 1st (2)
‘30: the better of a MIL/POR 1st (1)

Ant and Grant 1sts can spread throughout the rest of the decade. There is a lot of draft capital that can be built up by the time Scoot and Shae can really contend.
