Not anyone they would be willing to give up (McDaniels). Plus they gave up everything in that Gobert deal.Timberwolves need a PG upgrade. Any young Sota players on Blazers radar?
KAT and Gobert didn’t work, I can say with 99.8% certainty KAT and Ayton won’t work.Would you trade Jrue to Minnesota for KAT? The salaries match perfectly, and it gets them out of a massive contract. Also gives them a real PG and solidifies roles. Lets Edwards be the real star, and makes the Gobert fit better. I assume they'd get commitment from Jrue to re sign.
If KAT doesn't work in Portland you probably could still flip him for value. Our twin towers of Ayton and KAT might fit a little better as Ayton has more offensive game.
I guess it's probably too risky and crazy for both sides....but it's interesting to think about.
Multiple national media people brought up this idea. I don't think we are interested due to his contract.Would you trade Jrue to Minnesota for KAT? I'd love Kuminga but would also want additional draft compensation for eating Paul's contract. How do we feel about Kuminga? Sounds like he and Chris Paul can be sacrificed along with additional pieces for Holiday.
Reminds me of trading Strickland for Rasheed Wallace, which worked out really well. We need a PF to put next to Grant, so Sharpe can play SG. We'd have 4/5ths of a young core after this move. How do we feel about Kuminga? Sounds like he and Chris Paul can be sacrificed along with additional pieces for Holiday.
How fun is this! Ya think teams would be "fervent" and pounding the door for Herro? Was listening to the Windhorst pod and got too hyped.
They called the market for Holiday, "fervent." And that the bidding war has already begun with a deadline of Sunday.
They joked that no less than 20 teams would make an offer for Jrue. If we don't extract at least two good picks out of this, it would be a major disappointment for me after all this hype.
Why? His trade value will never be higher than it is now.Kind of hope they hold Jrue till the trade deadline.
According to the radio people in Miami, it would be higher! How fun is this! Ya think teams would be "fervent" and pounding the door for Herro?
Joe Cronin should call up Pat Riley, and be like "You want Jrue Holiday, you can't have him....do you feel like crying? It's ok...."
First you don't know that. Why? His trade value will never be higher than it is now.
No Bos gives them a firstGolden State gives us Kuminga and a 1st for Jabari Walker?
That is seriously what they were saying just two days ago. Now Miami still can't find a team to take Herro.According to the radio people in Miami, it would be higher!
He has a yr left on his deal followed by a player option. If we wait, teams could be potentially renting him for half a season. No way they offer more then vs now. Jrue's entire appeal to us is in his trade value. I'm not willing to affect that value with waiting and risking injury. Whatever insight Scoot can gain from Holiday, he can get from Chauncey.First you don't know that.
The idea has more to do with him going where they need him. I also don't have a problem with Scoot working with Jrue for the next few months. Think it could help him.
I certainly have no problem with Joe doing his job and looking at all offers available now.
Your math seems a little off? Also I said trade deadline. I guess i should have said This seasons trade deadline. He ain't walking away from $37 million so any team that gets him will have him for the remainder of this season and next. He isn't the kind of player to sit out and sulk.He has a yr left on his deal followed by a player option. If we wait, teams could be potentially renting him for half a season.
With the way Miami is trying to save face and throw Joe under the bus, I don’t think we will be sending Jrue to Miami.
I saw an idea I think on ESPN that said Brogdon, Horford and picks sighting that the Celtics have all of their picks. If we could get that deal and the picks were the better of their pick and the Warriors pick in the upcoming draft (no protection besides the Warriors existing 1-4) and a future first 2029 or 30. Then if we could flip Brogdon to a team in need of guard depth for expirings and one more FRP or good forward prospect, then we would be set.
How about they not offer a shitty deal and then we'll talk?I personally really want to trade Jrue to Miami for their same shitty deal so that we can laugh at Heat fans that we still got their assets but Dame ended up in Milwaukee.
I have enough faith in Cronin that he wouldn't let that shit bother him. I don't have faith that Miami have enough assets to interest us.With the way Miami is trying to save face and throw Joe under the bus, I don’t think we will be sending Jrue to Miami.
You mean Jrue for Herro and 2 FRPs then we swing Herro to a 3rd team and get 1 FRP and 1 swap?I personally really want to trade Jrue to Miami for their same shitty deal so that we can laugh at Heat fans that we still got their assets but Dame ended up in Milwaukee.
