I'm not sure why you thought he was complaining about taxes. I think he was just pointing out that while a $36 mil contract is a lot of money, Nic doesn't actually receive anywhere near that amount and his actual available resources from which to pay the gold digger is not as vast as some might presume. She probably gets more of his monthly income than Nic does.
