"Chip Kelly did indeed cancel Sacramento-area recruiting trips...."

You're falling into the trap. How will you recover from this boner?

This is where you excuse being a jackass and a liar as a "trap" in order to save face. Add this to the long list of things you falsely 'report' (aka copy from other message boards) here. Do we revisit the list just in the past two weeks?

You're doing nothing but reposting Twitter retweets tonight.

Are you mentally OK?

Point me out to the "big donor" board. That would be fun.

False. Chip is on the road tonight, and didn't cancel four in-home visits tonight.

There is evidence that he canceled four in-home visits recently.

Do you have anything to indicate that he did not?

As for whether this makes Kelly a "whore" or not... I dunno. We all get paid to do what we do for a living, and that makes us all whores at some level.

The timing sucks either way, though.

Ed O.

It will be fun to revisit this all in a few days, won't it?

If this turns out to be Chip Kelly masterfully negotiating his way to a bigger contract at Oregon then some people will be embarrassed

Not that they shouldn't be already, though, but you know what I mean

Ed O., your answer is no. He doesn't have any evidence.

Or the damage will already be done with potential recruits and this whole thing was a huge error on his part.

Look at that! You two joined the same year, just a few short days apart. Cute! :)

Another poster got mocked for a tongue-in-cheek con-theory...but, I like yours better. What a con man and whore that Chip would be if this was all his evil doing!? LOL. I like the way you think!

Kelly is finalizing a deal to become the Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach, the Tampa Bay Times confirmed Sunday night.

Kelly met with the Bucs earlier this past week and both sides are hopeful an agreement can be reached within the next 24-48 hours.

The secret meeting between with Kelly, Dominik and members of the Glazer family which owns the team came during an exhaustive search in which they interviewed eight known candidates with a wide array of experience in the NFL, from former head coaches to offensive coordinators and position coaches.

FWIW the chances of what I said to be true is probably less than 1%

Or, it's a ploy by Sark, Kiffin, and others.

:devilwink:

If Chip gets $7 million/year out of Tampa Bay, I can't blame him. I just find it near impossible, though.

NB - just ignore them. Neither of them are here to talk football or speculate on what is going on. PapaG has proven wrong four times in two weeks regarding information and the Toy is just here to irk people. Just ignore and they'll slowly fade away.

I could see Uncle Phil willing to pony up to $5M to keep Chip

It's $1M less than Saban, which would be about right

Ultimately if he leaves it's because he wants to be in the NFL, not because he is a "whore"

Fucking cringe-worthy to hear that from a fan

I'm here on S2 to call people out and provide factually correct posts

I've never failed in either, and never will

I guarantee you he DID cancel four visits - and I NEVER said anything about tonight. Try comprehension.

Here you go:

SacBee reporting on twitter that chip canceled his sacramento recruiting trip today.

49 minutes ago – DuckFootball: RT @BryanDFischer: RT @sb_joedavidson: Chip Kelly did indeed cancel Sacramento-area recruiting trips..

Kelly, did however confirm that all Sacramento-area recruiting visits have been cancelled. With signing day two weeks away the question becomes why would Kelly leave a program he was deeply undoubted to just before signing day? http://www.rantsports.com/pac-12-fo...es-to-become-tampa-bay-buccaneers-head-coach/

Twitter now constitutes "influential donors"?

_________ is a known troll on the other board. I don't take anything he says seriously.

Rahim Morris was reportedly up to $5.5m with incentive and Tampa Bay traded a pair of No. 1 draft picks, plus two No. 2's and $8 million cash, to obtain Gruden after the 2001 season.

SlyPokerDog is an emotional wreck.

No. I got the info via chatting with donors I know and trust. One is a close friend who is a Duck going back to the '60's. The twitter from cbssports.com was what I found regarding his claim.

Listen Dan Gilbert

You've said more stupid stuff tonight than I've seen on S2 in some time. Just know that I will always be here to call you out on it.

Rahim Morris made nowhere near that amount of money.

Morris, along with general manager Mark Dominik, each signed two-year contracts in 2009, with the options for a third season. Morris' annual salary was reportedly in the $900,000-range. According to Rick Stroud of the St. Pete Times, Morris will now make $2 million per season, with a chance to earn up to $3.5 million in incentives.

SlyPokerDog is an idiot.

*sorry, could have made up to $5.5 with incentives. we all kinda know the bucs didn't exactly deliver. the point is the organization is willing to go after what they want. look at what they did for gruden.

$3.5 ... $5.5 ... whatever.

You're such a SlyPokerDog. This really is fun.

I haven't had this much fun reading the Ducks forum in a long time!
