ITS NOT what would YOU LIKE, its what YOU THINK nurk will get

it would be preferable if you would wrote prediction in the thread too, so we can know each others predicitons

What they will pay, I think 4/70

That's an overpay, I would offer him more than MLE so 12 per year. 4/50

Injury history, center is least valuable position, can be played off the floor in playoff matchups

I went with the 4/60-64 option. But I really have no clue.

I think $15m / year makes sense, I think they will overpay a little, so went with the 4/64-68

3 years 36 million. Anything more would be terrible.

agreed, but Nurk doesn’t voluntarily shut down unless something juicy is offered. If the blazers offered less than 15m per year, you’d think he’d insist on finishing the last 1/3rd of the season—where he’s a featured player on offense—to boost his value.

Total mistake. And the funny thing is you'll have people championing it here who also championed Norms deal until it became convenient for them to shit on it to defend Joe last trade deadline.

I think a four year contract that starts at 15M and goes up from there is an overpay. I think it's debatable that Nurk played up to his last contract when he was healthy and we definitely didn't get back what we were paying for since he missed close to half of the games on that deal. That being said I think he'll get 4 years and 64M hopefully the third and fourth year are team options.

Whatevs...I still think Norm's contact was/is a good deal. But that might be why I'm still annoyed by the Clippers trade. :dunno:

I've done this before but a while ago. Here are some non-max comps for other starting Cs:

Vucevic - 4/100
Capela - 5/90, added 2/46
Allen - 5/100
Turner - 4/80
Adams - 2/35
Valanciunas - 2/30
Lopez - 4/52
WCJ - 4/50
Rob Wiliams - 4/48
Holmes - 4/47
Powell - 3/33

Around ~18 mil AAV, Nurk would be the 75th highest paid player in the league. About right IMO.

How many of those players help teams contend? I'd say Robert Williams is the only one, and he is paid $12 million.

Center is the least valuable position to spend free agent dollars. If you have an all-star player sure do it. If not, teams should be very careful putting money there when wings are so much more important.

I think using Adams as a baseline is fair for Nurk, anything around 16-18 per season seems fair.

Yeah, but I guarantee you that Williams would get 20-25 million per year (at least) if he was on the market now. He was still a relative upside swing when he signed that extension.

Contingent on offering Nurk a deal, I need him to lose 20-30 pounds to be more agile on D. Team first.

STOMP

I think many of you are setting yourselves up for extreme disappointment in both the Nurkic and Simons contract threads. I think the market value is higher for both players at the moment than many of you believe.

something between 60 and 70 million i guess. There are very few Teams with Cap Space and those who have, they are not interested in Nurkic, so his Market is basicly Portland, that puts the Blazers in a good position, Nurkic not so much

Disagree on Nurkic

Yeah, I think your Nurk take is fair, but in my book, there is no way Nurk shut it down early this year to take less than 15 mil per (your 15-17 mil per expectation is certainly reasonable). My best guess would be that he is inching closer to 20 per year. Calvin's suggestion of 4/72 or ill's of 4/75-80 are right in the ballpark.

3/51

17 a year is a decent increase in what he's earning now. I dont see a 4 year with his injury history.

3/60 +/- with team option for 4th year is about right.

I pick 4/60-64. Probably an option for the 4th year.
