OT Just one more reason to hate the Lakers!

Audit just means companies have to claim forgiveness by the rules congress passed and SBA wrote. An audit doesn't make those rules fair or right. An audit just makes sure it wasn't used to buy hookers and blow.

The Lakers would have passed an audit to keep millions if they had not returned it. Many other companies will pass an audit and have the loan forgiven. Companies I work for are doing the same for millions.

I don't fault companies or individuals for claiming this in their own interest, just as I don't fault anybody for taking a tax deduction.

The government and elected officials are at fault.
You sure the Lakers aren't buying "Hookers and Blow"? :)

Even with the pension, I saw a story of former players hurting (a couple of years ago, could be different now).

NBA players have one of the most generous pension plans out of all professional sports. They are vested into their pension plans after playing at least three seasons in the league. The minimum benefit for a player who retires at the age of 62 is $56,988 per year—not a bad retirement for a three-year career. The maximum benefit for any player is $195,000. It takes 11 years of NBA service to qualify for this benefit.

But that's not all. NBA players are also eligible to participate in a league-sponsored 401(k). Do you think your 401(k) plan is good with a 50% matching policy? The NBA matches a player's contributions up to 140%.

Damn, I need to become an NBA player.

Did LeBron loan them the money?

Im sure that the owners, who didn't make their money by themselves, expected the players to pay for the expenses.
