But Michal Cuddyer beat out Jeter in every stat but batting average. Congrats Justin.
So... carrying your team to success counts for nothing now?
Not to you. Morneau carried the Twins... Jeter helped the Yankees greatly, but they would've made the playoffs without him.
No the Yankees wouldn't have.
Interesting...
:LMAO:

I screwed up that thing. Let me fix it (if I can). The "Let's go back in time" isn't supposed to be in a quote.. I had to move it to get it out of one.. but it's not in one now.

But the Boston Massacre would still have occured, and that is when the Yankees ran away with it.</div>considering that Jeter got the "big hit" (winning RBI, run etc) in 2 of the 5 games, nope.

^so you're saying that Abrue, Damon, A-Rod, HGH, etc don't produce it??

</div>So in your mind if a player's teammates produce, that he can't still carry a team? So Frank Thomas is the ONLY choice?

huh?? No, I made that post in reference to his that the Boston Massacre does not occur w/o Jeter

how can you say that Morneau did not carry his team. Sure, Santana carried his team, but only every 5 days. What the hell happened those other days? Twins just sucking their nuts? I dont think so. Morneau was carrying this team on offense. Without Morneau, this team doesnt come close to the playoffs.Santana could go 34-0, and this team wouldnt make the playoffs without Morneau.Jeter couldve been injured all year, and teh Yankees still would have EASILY!!! made the playoffs. You can argue that all you want, but when you have someone like Robinson Cano batting 9th, then you know you could surrender one fucking player.Im not saying Jeter isnt worthy, but he did not carry his team as much as Morneau did, and Frank Thomas may have carried his team, but thats not the only stat. You also have to have really good stats, and all Thomas can do is hit a hr, nothing else. Morneau was great all the way around.

Casstio has a career year? He batted under .300 and was hurt down the stretch. Hunter did not have a career year earthier. He had a career home run year. I guess that's the main stat for the Yanks but the Twins don't get carried but HR's. Also in the last three starts for Santana while the Twins made a final surge. Santana pitched some of his worst baseball of the year. That's not carrying you're team.

And playoff performance doesn't count when it comes to MVP voting. :whistling: How can either deserve it? 👍

yeah dude, Ryan Howard's Phillies had I think 2 more wins then the Cardinals, and the voting takes place PRIOR to the playoffs.

Pujols who said that the MVP shouldn't be a player who didn't get his team to the playoffs."I see it this way: Someone who doesn't take his team to the playoffs doesn't deserve to win the MVP," Pujols said

Yeah, well if the Phillies were in the NL Central, they'd have made the playoffs. So shut up, Albert. :nuttkick:

And I think Papi was more deserving than A-Rod was in 2005.

well Papi got snubbed in 2005, but I can see his beef this year. He is Mr. Clutch, and w/o him, the Red Sox are no one. You'd have the same problem the Cubs had when Derrek Lee went down. There are only 2 run producers in their lineups: Cubs - Lee/Ramirez, Red Sox - Papi/MannyLee and Papi are the lead mashers, the Ramirez cousins (yes they are related) are supporting mashers. Their teams would do horrible if the lead masher went down.
