Holy ****ing shit. One of the best nights of my life, it was sick.
Anyone who doesn't want to know too much about the show, don't read the following. I'm basically just gonna go through and talk about everything.
Ok, so the show started earlier than expected, there was a change at the last minute for whatever reason. But anyways, instead of starting at seven, it was moved to six so I was a little bit late but saw some Lupe. Superstar was good and he is very very good performer. He had tons of energy throughout the entire performance and was making jokes and talking to the crowd and stuff. He finished pretty strong and overall, I was impressed. It's gotta be hard to stay up there just rapping constantly especially when you have a flow like his that just keeps going and going without many breaks.
Next up was N.E.R.D. and HOLY SHIT! They killed it. Nobody really knew who they were but they came on with so much energy and just killed it. They had everybody going crazy and they called people on stage and shit. Then Pharrell was like, "Everyone out there in the lawn, I wanna see your faces!" so everyone in the lawn section just stormed the stage. The security and ushers and shit were pissed but everyone just went up to the front and the security guards couldn't do anything. They did a sick job and I was really surprised/impressed with them.
Rhianna was ok. I'm not a huge fan of her in the first place and I don't know. She didn't have much energy or anything. Her dancers were cool and she sounded good in person but it didn't stack up to Lupe, NERD, or Kanye. She was on for about an hour and had like a shit load of outfit changes haha. She had cooler effects than Lupe or NERD but she wasn't amazing. All of the girls were up singing her shit but the guys were like ehh, where's Kanye? haha
Then it was Kanye's turn. There was about a 20 minute wait between Rhianna and Kanye cuz they had to set up the stage and stuff. They had a huge curtain and then when they lowered a screen down. It had this cool intro that set up the whole space plot thing. Then the curtain drops and Kanye starts doing Good Morning. It was pretty sick. Then he gets to the third verse and starts saying the second verse again. He realized he messed up and he paused then he's like "just fucked up on the very first song, time to freestyle Tampa like nothing went wrong." It was a fuckin nice freestyle too.
Oh and it's not just a concert, you're basically seeing a show with like a script, plot, and all of the songs tie in to what's going on. It's pretty sick. He absolutely KILLED Good Life. They had the T-Pain voice effect thing on his mic and he did both his and T-Pain's part. It was ridiculous, everyone was screaming. Diamonds and Get Em High were pretty awesome too. Then he did Stronger and everyone went crazy. It's all chopped and cut and then he goes into his verse. It was so sick. He did a bunch of other songs. Then he closes the show with Touch The Sky and it was fuckin nice. He finishes by rapping over the Touch the Sky beat about his life and following your dreams and stuff. Then he thanks everyone for coming and it's over. Sickest concert ever. The lighting and effects were insane. They definitley won't be topped anytime soon. The way the songs fit in with the plot was awesome too. Kanye was funny in a lot of parts and overall he just had an amazing performance. 10/10, 5 stars, 2 thumbs up. Couldn't ask for any more.
