OT Kanye West

Yes, I'm sure there are many examples of just that.

So how do we know how to determine and when did you determine who is sincere and who is not "truly following" Jesus?...I mean if someone claims salvation but then breaks one of "The Commandments" is he then consider not to be a true follower?

Not sure why we can't just hold off on judging how true someone is to their espoused beliefs by waiting to see what fruit comes from their life. Like this is a fun one around here, what has come from Trump? Doesn't that speak a lot about what he really believes and what he stands for? If you spout hate, and division, and dissension, usually in your wake will be hate, division, and dissension.

People have claimed a religion, secularism in China for example, amongst a multitude of things to get what they want who knows, what's going on in Kanye's head (if anything). I don't know Kanye West or anything about him.

Should we just assume that all people no matter their world view, or espoused world views are simply using it for what they get out of it? It's probably a fair assumption.

However, you can usually tell by the trail a person leaves behind how closely they hold their values, morals, world-views because they will eventually leave a trail that speaks much louder than their words ever will. It's fair to say, "I question if this dude is sincere", it's also fair to say, "We'll know when it's done how sincere he was".

The majority of the people who are church goers or claim to be, that I've experience since I was in my teens are/were "holier than thou" hypocrites.

I'm not going to get into a religious debate on if you like Christians and the Bible, and all that or not on here as that won't get us anywhere. I'll just say that I am firmly in the camp that by observation, listening, watching, and seeing what comes from someone's life will tell you much of what they valued, whether it was religious views, anti-religious views, whether they were a Democrat or a Republican, whether they loved their kids, whether they were a good spouse, whether money was their God, all that stuff you'll know what's valuable to someone based on maybe not "one action", but based on the sum of many actions.

While our personal experiences play a huge role in how we all view the world, I think you and I would both accept that our anecdotal relationships with Atheists, Christians, Buddhists, Muslims whatever does not relegate all of them to being what our mind has conjured up the image of them to be, based on our extremely limited scope and view of the world.

The world is full of real people, good people, bad people, good actors and bad actors....too many people trying the acting gig and ignoring the "real" approach. When famous people stay in the news they stay, "famous people".....Al Green went from being a junkie soul star to a Reverend and gave up the fame for the right reasons...it happens...but I don't think Reverend Al Green is selling seats at his church....Kanye is...at his revivals at least. Looks like televangelism, it's probably televangelism

Curious that Muslims didn't make the list....just noticed it, not to argue but thought it was interesting seeing as how Muslims today are probably pigeon holed more than any other theology

And I'm saying that if someone is a POS and gets caught doing something immoral/illegal/improper and then suddenly declares the have seen the light and had "found religion" 99 times out of a 100 it's BS...if a guy beats his wife but goes to church, that's overlooked OK and his sins are forgiven?...and THAT is some of the "hypocrisy" I spoke about.

Not that my personal feelings matter, but yeah there is a lot of hypocrisy, I'm not denying that. I am saying that it's totally ok to question how sincere someone is, in this case Kanye, it's also fair for ABM to say he wants to see what Kanye does going forward make any judgment on if he's a "changed" person or not. That does not mean ABM is excusing Kanye's actions.

Also I never once said it's ok for a guy to beat his wife if he goes to church, or that, that should be overlooked. I think no matter if it's true that someone found some religions or whatever you want to say their punishments for breaking the laws of the land, in this case Abusing a spouse or child should be the same. They're still accountable for what they did. Christians shouldn't overlook it, I'm not denying that.

I know very little about Kanye, so I had to google if he had abused someone or not... BTW 99 out 100 is gonna be a hard one to prove, but I'll give it to you.

1. I did not intend to imply that I was pointing to you, it was only a random example.

2. The "99 out of 100" reference was based only on my personal experiences.

But hey man, we're good..

Religious people are people just like anyone else. They have faults and vices. They suffer from mental illness and addictions like any other normal person. They may have a different interpretation of the world and different ways of coping with things but that doesn’t make them liars or hypocrites. They're trying to make it thru another day just like anyone else. I think perhaps some of you are holding religious people to a higher standard than what’s reasonable.
I dont know many atheists who are experts in the sciences, nor would I expect that to be a standard requisite. You don’t have to be a perfect embodiment of your beliefs, there’s no such thing.

That's the browser that will work on flip phones! Congrats!
Ha! I can barely make it out, that you are being a smart ass. Perhaps because I do indeed have a flip phone, big number on the keypad too!
But the Browser runs on my desktop in the MarAzul. Well tuned to skip the shit. But for insolent mods.

"Help, I've fallen and I can't flip my big button phone open."

My IT guy says Im the most impatient guy with electronics he’s ever seen so maybe thats the problem. Thanks for the link did look through and do a few of them.

What I usually find is that s2 works fine but when someone posts a tweet, it seems to hang for a while, then load but the tweets not there. It’s just a blank post that has the little twitter symbol. The tweet never shows up unless hit refresh a few times (at least on my phone), my laptops and PC’s dont have that issue. Sorry for cluttering up this thread.
