That said, would you like to see him as coach of the Blazers next season?

George Karl is one of the greatest choke artists of all time.

In 1994, he blew a 2-0 lead in the first round and became the first coach to lose to an #8 seed.

In 1995, he got upset by the lower seeded Lakers.

A few years later in Milwaukee, the Bucks were LEADING THEIR DIVISION in March. They failed to make the playoffs.

Granted Nate was ON the team that got upset by the Nuggets and Lakers.

No chance. Karl has a long history of making excuses (for himself), running his mouth to the press, and throwing his players under the bus.

George Karl is like Byron Scott. Both have gotten immediate results wherever they've gone but quickly worn out their welcome. Either would be a welcome addition in the short term, but beyond that is anyone's guess.

Karl would win a championship with the present Blazer roster if healthy. But I'll focus on the negative--he is helpless with rookies because he's not a teaching-type coach. This is anti-complementary to Pritchard's sole skill, drafting rookies. For the long run, Karl and Pritchard are a bad matchup.

I think that Popovich would be the ONLY coach out there to win a title with our current roster - even if all players were healthy!

I'd like to see Ha as coach.

To elaborate on Pops: [and why he could take our roster to a Title]

He'd give Webster (Lion) courage;

Aldridge (Tin Man) a heart;

and

Outlaw (Scare Crow) a brain;

.... and Roy (Dorothy?) the ball - and tell him "just take it down the yellow brick road!"

all the while throwing a bucket of water on Kobe (wicked witch of the West!) and make the Lakers melt away!

:lol:

Can we assume that Blake is Dorothy's little dog Toto, then?

And Nate is clearly Auntie Em.

And the Wizard of Oz: KP

YES! And these are my reasons that Pops would take us to OZ!

I think Pops would be the Wizzard though. And KP would be Auntie Em! Nate would be gone, provided Pops was in town!

But "Blake" as Toto! I love it! :cheers:

Got to admit....

the best one was: Outlaw (Scare Crow) getting a brain! :biglaugh:

Not a chance.

Who do you think taught Nate all he knows about passing off blame?

Karl is one of the most over-rated coaches in the league.

You know who I saw coach circles around Mike Brown of the Cavaliers the other night? Our good friend Lionell Hollins. He absolutely schooled Mike Brown the other night when the Cavs were in Memphis. Every play he was ahead of Mike Brown. Not that Mike Brown is a good coach. But it was impressive never the less.

In related news, Armed Thug was able to steal candy very easily from Sedated Baby Left Alone in Stroller.

Guys on the Golden State RealGM board were reminiscing about going to a Kids Warrior camp where Karl would show up drunk. I would bet the complaint level between Nate and Karl would be the same.

He was probably hanging out with Chris Mullin! No biggy. It's ok to get drunk as long as your boss does it too!:pimp:

When Blake played at Denver, Karl really liked him and played him all the time in the backcourt with AI, as JR Smith came off the bench. Karl wanted to re-sign Blake; but, the team offered less than the Blazers, and the rest is history.

So, if Karl does come here, I'm sure this forum will be unanimously thrilled to see more of Steve Blake. :cheers:

I have already come to terms with the fact that Steve Blake will be a Blazer for the rest of his career, and probably start as long as our current management is in place. I gave up on hope on this subject, a long time ago. The only reason I bring up Bayless from time to time is to vent so my head won't explode trying to go through the logic as to why he continues to start and play the most.
