Berchem's texts with Yarasavage shed light on Kavanaugh’s personal contact with friends, including that he obtained a copy of a photograph of a small group of friends from Yale at a 1997 wedding in order to show himself smiling alongside Ramirez 10 years after they graduated. Both were in the wedding party: Kavanaugh was a groomsman and Ramirez a bridesmaid at the wedding.

On Sept, 22nd, Yarasavage texted Berchem that she had shared the photo with “Brett’s team.”

But when Kavanaugh was asked about the wedding during a committee interview on Sept. 25th, he said he was “probably” at a wedding with Ramirez. Asked if he interacted with her at the wedding, Kavanaugh replied, “I am sure I saw her because it wasn’t a huge wedding,” but added that he “doesn’t have a specific recollection.” Lying to Congress is a felony whether testimony is taken under oath or not.

Never said anything definitively. It was 20 years ago.
 
Let me start by saying I have no doubt women will be ignored again (although Orin Hatch did admit that Dr. Ford was attractive and pleasing - hooray) and Kavanaugh will get his lifetime appointment. I do find it funny that some of you think the hapless Dems, who lost the presidency to a moron, are capable of perpetrating a vast left wing conspiracy against this guy but whatever.

How do you explain away the fact that she notified her Democratic Senator AND her Republican President that there was a problem before he was nominated?

How do you explain the optics of the Republicans hiring a prosecutor to question Dr. Ford? But firing her as soon as she started questioning Kavanaugh about the 7/1 calendar entry that could potentially corroborate the party at Timmy's for skis?

And Lindsey Graham throwing a temper tantrum, not in the heat of the moment, but while obviously looking down at his pre-written notes that sounded like Sean Hannity wrote them? Hello Jeff Session, meet your replacement.

Here's an idea... Dr. Ford says she remembers details about what the house looked like and how the inside was laid out - how about we ask Timmy for photographs of the inside of the house from back then and see if we're on to something. Do you go up a narrow staircase and see a bedroom on the right and a bathroom on the left? Oh wait, we can't because Timmy didn't make the cut on the witness list.

I would like to ask you one question that sort of bugs me. Not to irritate you but perhaps you might have a rational answer that I missed.

Dr. Ford could derail the Kavanaugh conformation in a heart beat if she had done one thing earlier, like in August or even early September. Hell it might work even now.

If she formally filed charges against Kavanaugh for what ever is correct, rape to attempted juvenile sexual assault, in the state of Maryland.
There is no statute limitation on these charge in that State as I understand it. With that pending investigation for prosecution at trial
by the DA with jurisdiction, there is no way the man would be confirmed.
We would all ready be talking about the next nominee.

Why doesn't she file these charges? Why don't the Democrats see that these charges get filed?

The only answer I can come up with is, they have tried and failed, or they know or the DA knows, they lack the evidence to get the conviction.
