I was watching that game and man I came away impressed. I had some doubts about him but I walked away feeling more confident about him. His two block against a much stronger big man was awesome. He got a solid feel for the game with a killer instinct when he knows he need to turn it up. Kinda like dame in that regard

Honestly I’d be surprised if Chet wasn’t a bust. If we are picking top 3 I’d go Smith, Ivey, Paolo…and I don’t even like Paolo.

Just a feeling I get watching him, I think he’s gonna struggle playing versus NBA bigs. I know he has talent, I like his shot and ball handling but I see him getting pushed around down low, off his spots and as a rookie he won’t be getting those calls. I actually think he will be getting into Zach Collins kinda foul trouble most games. Looking at his frame I think it’s gonna be hard for him to gain and keep the weight/muscle that he’s going to need to add. This is gonna be the most important pick in over a decade for the Blazers, I’d trade it or go a different direction before I drafted Chet. Just my opinion.

NBA bigs for the most part these days are stretch the floor types. I don’t even think he’ll be matched up with bigs. I see him as either a 3 or 4 at the pro level. He doesn’t even play the post position in college. Not sure if you’ve watched him play much, but he does most his damage on the perimeter.

Is Chet projected as a Center or a spread 4 in the NBA? Can he guard the perimeter?

Spread 4. Porzinigis-like.

You don’t want to waste a 7 footer’s good handle by relegating them to the post.

I agree....as long as he can guard the perimeter. He looks like he could

Yes on offense he is a perimeter player but he will have to go inside at some point and I doubt we are gonna stick him on wings at the other end on D where he will most likely get bulldozed by stronger players inside. Just my opinion but it’s a real risky top 5 pick.

He's not gonna play down low and he'll put on weight. He already looks like he's gained a little bit. Look at Giannis/AD.

Yeah Chet is more of a PF than a C. He can guard the perimeter. He can knock down 3s. Got good handle. He block shots. Rebound well. Pass well. What I like about him is that when he’s not scoring he still impacting the game through his defense, passing, rebounding, and intensity. I can’t say the same about smith and Banchero. Those guys might be the better scorer but I don’t think they’re the better players

I’ll reserve judgement for the NCAA tournament for Chet.

Gonzaga plays the little sisters of the blind week in and out.

They play top competition for almost half the season. Watch them tonight they play @ BYU. Which is a tournament team and has a roster of 33 year old’s

They have played Texas, UCLA, Duke, Alabama and Texas Tech. Lol. Little sister of your momma

Chet wouldn't get half of those points if he was a Blazer because many of them came off of lob passes.
Since when did 4/23 become 1/2 lol. The stretch where he scored 11 straight point didn’t feature a single lob. If you’re including pick and roll, when did it become a bad thing to be able to score in the pick and roll? Chet does it better than Nurk honestly
