Kenyon Martin Offered 6 Year Deal, Worth Between 80-100 Million

you talk about nash leaving and setting back the mavs. how about Shaq leaving orlando. If he had stayed in orlando they would have been in great contention for the title again that next year. Hardaway and Shaq (forget shaq and kobe, its all about shaq and hardaway) in their prime or going to their prime. just had to bring that up cause we are in the same situation. Kmart and Jefferson going into their prime and we can't lose him or them with our something back

60-70 mil is pretty close to max contract though but he'll be worth it cause he show that he can improve and when improves he improves alot. the only thing is he gets shutdown alot but he is beginning to create own shot he'll be there soon

the only way you will see kmart in an ugly atlant uniform is when u put him on the hawks on nba live. thats about it. if he leaves, he will be going to denver or somewhere else via sign-and-trade. atlanta is just a team to help prove kmarts point that he can get the max. i think he would hesitate signing the atlanta offer sheet b.c he knows there is a chance the nets wont match (still expect them too or ratner will look extremely bad after he publicly said he told rod/ed to keep kmart by any means w/o trading jason) and eventhough he will have max money, he knows he wont be happy in atlanta. i could see him signing for less with denver/nj before he signs a max with atlanta. if he goes to atlanta, i'll help him pack his bags.

well with all the things going on in the nba like the lakers decontructions, the carlos boozer thing etc i wouldnt be surprised if kmart left and Ratner said theres nothing that he could do

so u think he wont go a town and end up in denver. well denver will NOT give him max therefore HE WILL sign with Atlanta.

But I think KMart not perform very well as RJ, Kidd+RJ maybe are lonely, but if somebody join the nets like Abdur-rahim & ray allen, it's still ok.
KMart is emotionless, I don't think why he insist on the salary, I don't think that's important.

The Nets are pretty much in a situation where they are going to have to match Martin's offers. Or be stuck without a bigman next year because all the good cheape bigbodies onthe Free Agent market are locked up in contracts already. And the Nets dont have the trade bait to acquire a good bigman in a trade without using Martin in a sign & trade.

The Nets (if trading kidd isnt an option) only have two tradable players, Kerry Kittles & Kenyon Martin. The Blazers seemed somewhat interested in trading Reef for Kittles but that deal faded away pretty fast. And I dont think to many other teams are going to be willing to giveup a good bigbody for Kittles, which means the K-Mart becomes their only real from of acquiring a bigbody to replace him, so they are going to have to match any offer imo, even if its to do a sign & trade deal(but hopefully not, if we re-sign him, K-Mart needs to stay).

it is NOT worth NOT resigning kmart to save money for ONE year earlier. bunch of contracts will come off the books next year and we will plenty to have kidd/kmart and a resing rj all under the cap. it is not worth it to lose a talent like kenyon b/c you want to move the team to brooklyn. who does ratner think he is going to bring to brooklyn? not kidd b/c he will most likely be done by then and maybe if kmart leaves and rj see's how ratner is after one year under him he wont resign. so he better think about this and give kenyon his money. kmart stays,rj resigns and ratner will have a product going into brooklyn to make money. if he starts to screw the team now, he will be f'd in brooklyn. and if he doesn't resign kmart and the team falls apart, i hope he goes in debt for the rest of his life. <^>
