Kerry, always been a fan of your work...will your book be available by ebook through my local Lane County library anytime soon? I will request it...just wondered if it was in ebook form yet

What was your reaction when you heard that there was going to be a documentary about the JailBlazers? Did you contribute at all to that?
I was just hoping it wouldn't come out before the release of my book :)
And no, I've not been asked to contribute to anything. I'll believe there is a documentary in the works when I see it.

The seed for the era was planted with the Carlesimo/Strickland friction of 1994-95, but it began in earnest when the Blazers acquired Rider and Wallace in 1996-97. As for the exact genesis, Rider had several incidents that first year that kicked up enough dust to get it started, as I've detailed in the book.

I've been reading your book almost nonstop since I got my copy, there was a ton in there I didn't know about that era. Never knew about the friction from Carlesimo and Strickland. Really fun to read and look back on.

According to a good source -- my girlfriend -- a request for the book at a library is generally answered promptly, and affirmatively. I still have no answer on ebooks and audio books, though I think the answer will be yes on that as well.

Well if most of the people involved weren't willing to talk to you about that era because of the documentary then I am glad your book came out first too.

Would you contribute if asked?

Thank you!

The only part for a dog in that movie is in Z-Bo and Qyntel's dog fighting ring.

Maybe they can write in a part where one the players dogs finds Kemps's coke, instead of a player

Were you ever a Hunter S Thompson fan?
Of course. That's why my next book will be entitled, "Fear and Loathing in Rip City."
Thanks to all for participating. Lots of good questions and enjoyable.
Hope you will be able to find a book, and if you try and they don't have it, tell them to get the damn thing on order!

You're my favorite sports writer in town. Hands down.

Ever thought of taking a more exclusive role covering the Blazers?
We'll be starting podcasts through the Portland Tribune website next month, which I'll be handling. Probably one a week, and some of them will be on the Blazers.
Our Tribune staff is small, though, and I'll never be able to focus exclusively on them.
But thanks for the compliment.

damn no response to my questions. i wanted a shot at the free book.

thanks anyway
