really good. I wish he would've been a Blazer for 15 years or so. We would've been pretty good with him on the team, I think.

Greg Oden is on the brink of retirement and has talked trash about the city as soon as he was out.

But back to the topic -- KD is the best player in the League.

A list of things that young black rich injured NBA players can do in Portland.

1. Play tennis with Quick.
2. Play checkers with HCP.
3. Go to strip clubs.
4. Get stoned with teammates.
5. Have guests over and drink.
6. Admit to the media that Portland doesn't swing.

A no-win situation. Oden chose 5 and 6. And 2.

7. Rehab, live clean, and get back on the court.

Oden fucked up his own career.

Still Lebron. When KD can effect every aspect of the game at an elite level then he could challenge LBJ, tell then its LBJ hands down on a pinnacle all his own.

So true... so true...

What did KP say? "One will win scoring titles, one will win titles." Little did we know that the same guy might be the answer to both proclamations.

LeBron is one of the 5 greatest players ever for the first 46 minutes of a game. The last two minutes, he's one of the last guys I'd want to have the ball in his hands. His confidence is shattered at this point.

If Greg Had just been smoking the herb instead of drinking he would have been so much better off..

Walton was depressed while he missed a couple of years, but he made a comeback and Oden can't.

Now, what was the difference?

KP also labeled one of those two guys an "assassin" and then drafted the other one. Just for that, I hate KP.

KP didn't have a choice. He made it clear that he preferred KD. You, Every other fan and their mut wanted Oden. So they went with the popular choice.

kevin durant is....

almost as good as tracy mcgrady was at the same age

I forgot just how much of a monster T-Mac was at the same age:

32.1 PPG | 6.5 RPG | 5.5 APG | 30.3 PER

But TMac STILL hasn't been out of the first round and Durant is on the verge of being in the WCF for the second straight year.

When we won the lottery, my very first thought was "We'll blow this. If we pick Oden, he'll get hurt and it will be MJ/Bowie all over again." It was my FIRST thought. I still wanted to draft Oden but I was very worried.

basketball is a team sport, it certainly wasnt tmacs fault considering he has a higher career playoff PER than um...kevin durant

TMac didn't have teammates like Ilbaka/Harden/Westbrook, his best shot was Yoa ming/Grant hill but in each case he was either hurt or the other player was hurt.

Everyone always has a choice; possibly he chose to bend to public opinion; I don't know.
And by the way, I have never expressed an opinion online or offline, that I was glad the Blazers drafted Oden. I first had reservations when I heard KP's "assassin" remark and then when there was a story that there were medical concerns; I hoped when i heard those reports that the Blazers would put a tremendous amount of effort into assessing Greg with numerous experts and assessing the entire history of sports of guys with similar injury history and with one leg longer.

And I don't have any criticism for fans who wanted Oden; none of them were able to personally interview him; none of them were able to personally interview friends, relatives, coaches teammates etc. like i hope the Blazers did. None of the fans were able to ask Greg to take a psychological test and none were able to look at the results. None of the fans had a fair chance to determine if Greg had the mental toughness and desire to be a star.

But TMac went up 3-1 against the Pistons, talked about what a great accomplishment it was to make it to the second round and then was awful in Game 7, losing three straight to lose the series. Everyone on Orlando was good that game except for him.

orlando had ZERO regulars with a 15 PER besides tmac that year, to blame orlandos struggles on tmac is just plain silly

TMac had unbelievable talent. Durant has unbelievable talent. Not everything has to be A is better than B. We never had a shot at TMac, but we passed on Durant.
