Kevin Love - Possible?

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

Precisely. Check out specifically how he produced his first few years in the league in Denver. 13/8 with 2.5 bpg and 37% from 3, during the slowest-paced era in league history. If we were getting that consistently from our PF spot, how good would this team be right now?
I'm jaded by the RLEC fiasco. Don't remember much about him before Dallas.

Uninformed post.

Hmm...what has Collins done in NBA games to make you think he will be a better 3 point shooter than Markkanen?

I like Collins but he isn’t gonna make his paycheck behind the arc.

Lauri is playing 16 more minutes per game than Collins and here are the stats... He's not that much better a shooter and Collins shot .747 from free throw in college so his NBA number is anomaly.

Any prospect garnering a Bill Laimbeer comparison raises eyebrows among longtime members of the Pistons fan base.

A college coach evoked the name of the tough-minded Pistons great in a talent evaluation of Gonzaga power forward Zach Collins, a projected lottery pick in next month’s NBA draft.

The quote, from an unnamed coach whose team played Gonzaga this season, appears in NBA.com’s David Aldridge’s analysis of the top power forwards available for the June 22 draft.

“Tough dude, mean as a rattlesnake,” the coach said. “He’ll be like (Bill) Laimbeer.”
article taken from the Detroit Free Press before the draft last year...also states he needs upper and lower core muscle

Lol...you’re right you didn’t say it in exact words, you just bolded the part of my quote suggesting Collins wouldn’t be a feared 3 point shooter, posted videos of Collins draining 3s(unguarded), and keep suggesting he’s a better player than Markkanen. I have no clue why I jumped to such an absurd conclusion, I’m gonna take a couple hours and go learn the forum now, thanks for the advice.

I never once suggested this. I suggested that Collins scouting report at some time in his career would indicate to NOT leave him open and at this time Lauri's numbers weren't that much higher.

Take those few hours and come back stronger rook.

Come on man, Lauri is 10x the shooter Zach is. Zach only shoots if he is open, Lauri shoots at a high volume. It's like saying "Dame isn't that much better at shooting than John Wall".

Collins has superior defensive instincts but Lauri is FAR superior in pretty much every other category.

, posted videos of Collins draining 3s(unguarded)

Who shoots guarded 3s that we want on our team? I don't want anyone on our team, Lauri included, shooting "guarded" 3 point shots that aren't up against the shot clock. :dunno:

My post was to show that Zach can and will one day be a great 3 point shooter. Shooting .400 means you're great at it.

You're saying someone Zach can't improve like KAT who has had modest gains over the past 3 years?

Making statements like this about a 20 year old rookie is foolish IMO.

He actually played the best ball of his career RIGHT before that trade. Talk about maximizing your trade value (Meyers! Pay attention!!!).

Through the first 51 games of the 2001-02 season he averaged 14.9 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 3.0 bpg on .434 3FG%. He was a man ahead of his time. With that combination of rim protection and 3-point shooting, he's be the perfect center in today's NBA.

I learned enough of the forum in the past 5 min to see you’re using Dirks name and stats a lot when talking about Collins, maybe thats what made my mind freak out and not really comprehend anything else you were saying.

Something is wrong. It's like you MFs can't read. I NEVER SAID he was as good as Lauri. READ THEN POST...

And C'mon man my ass. He plays 16 more minutes than Zach and Zach's percentage aren't that much worse. THIS is the only thing I'm emphasizing but folks want to put their own spin on WTF I'm trying to say.

Read first... Jesus...

I was being nice by saying unguarded, I guess I should of said completely alone on the court taking warm up shots.

Your reading comprehension needs to be worked on then because my EXACT statement was:

Sigh... I said more Dirk than Camby. Make sense when you talk.

Can you read??????

So you didn't watch all of the videos then.

No, I don’t care about the 6’0” dudes he shot over playing for the Zags and I could of sworn you also posted Dirk stats insinuating he’s on some sort of pace to be as good as Dirk while making excuses for the “abnormalities” in his season stats so far by referencing his college career. My apologies if you didn’t do this.

Dude you're the one who said "(Lauri) not that much better of a shooter" which is false. Collins even if he was playing 16 minutes more a game isn't taking 6-7 threes a night no matter what.

Have the Blazers ever got better through free agency? How is thier track record with the draft? The only time this franchise had a chance at a title in the past 20 years was through trades! Being a cursed team from the Northwest makes trading for talent the only way. Dame doesn’t wanna wait 3 years for Collins to be a beast, either surround him with players ready to win now by mortgaging the future or trade him, that’s my opinion.

Cleveland 100% has to do something unless they like the idea of Lebron leaving them again. And my bet is he goes to Spurs which makes Kawhi happy and the rest of the West really unhappy.
Uninformed post.
@LayneStaley should check out this video. I counted it once, I think his #makes is in the 60s, while he had 5 or 4 misses. Dude can shoot. Really looking forward to him having more comfort and responsibility on the court - a true 2-way player.

I’m too busy learning the forum to count his warm up makes.

I LIKE Collins, I just believe he will be a post and mid range scorer, I don’t see him taking 5+ 3s a game but that’s fine.

Can someone please remind me how we went down this rat hole? This is a thread about possible Kevin Love trades. CLE isn't interested in Zach Collins. They need IMMEDIATE help, not a 20-year old skinny rookie.

His rookie Per36 numbers have him at 3.1. So you're saying that never in his career will he shoot 5+?

Maybe not in his rookie season sure. But ever in his career?

He's a 3 & D PF man...
