Anyone want to compare the style and syntax of that letter to the Darius Miles letter?
It seems to be clear that he wrote it himself, because the grammar is a bit off in places IMO.
Ed O.

What are you implying, and how does it relate to reality?![]()

KP wrote an open letter to Darius Miles?
One fact is clear, KP had many more misses than home runs.
Patterson takes credit for Roy and LaMarcus (I'm on the fence). bunt
Oden over Durant (didn't disagree with the pick but.....). swing and a miss
FA's, we got made a fool by Hedo (thank god for this), missed with Milsap but hurt Utah, got the table scraps with Miller and luckily he panned out the second half of the season but disappeared in the playoffs. Foul ball
Bayless, nuff said. pop up to the catcher
I really think the only two home runs he hit were with Camby and Batum. Quit frankly any one of us could have stepped in there, with PA money, and done just as good a job if not better.
Throw enough darts at the board and you are bound to hit something.
You say one fact is clear, yet you then offer up your opinions to prove the fact. It may be a fact to you, but it certainly isn't reality, is it?

KP's firing will make the team better, that is my OPINION.

KP was great at finding talent, that is it. We've done that and need to move on to the next phase of this franchise. KP , falls in love with his player, can't get the trades done and he obviously can't negotiate contracts worth a shit. Ferry has a track record of making moves to improve the team, meet our next GM......FACT

Would not taking advantage of "the greatest trade chip in the history of the NBA" be reality?
I hope you're right
That's more of a prediction there at the end.

The best hitters in baseball make outs over half the time... but they still can be great hitters with a .450 OBP.

I think GM's are held to a higher standard when it comes to their hitting average. I would expect a good one to be right at least 2/3's the time
In fairness to KP, Ferry has a track record of making moves to TRY to improve his team. I agree with you about KP though. He is a great evaluator of talent, but this team needs to consolidate, and KP has shown an inability to do that.
You might be right, but in terms of ACTIVE moves, most of KP's moves have been good. He's more open to criticism for failures to make moves, and that's really squishy.

KP wanted to let it bake, he couldn't get the ingredients right....time to get of of the kitchen and let someone else make the doughnuts

Really? Baked doughnuts?
Great letter.
Regardless of what KP did, he projected a great image, and represented the franchise and the city very well during a time when we really needed it. I think he'll go down as one of those fan favorites forever, which is rare for a front-office guy. No other GM in the league would have their name chanted during a game.

"Kevin was a part of the team that brought some great players to this organization and really turned this organization around. Again, Kevin was a part of it; there was a team of people that did this, it wasn't just Kevin."
Buchanan and Born probably deserve just as much credit.

It's obvious more than ever to me there was some severe jealously in the Blazers organization. Grow up, children..
There's a deep, wicked irony here. Because Pritchard's buzzword was "culture." He used the word so frequently in his first year as GM that he often caught himself and would stop and say, "I know, I just said it again," when the word came up in conversation. But in the end, while Pritchard beamed publicly and fostered a roster everyone loved, he became loathed by those who controlled his future. The culture around him was poisoned, and the plotting began.
Allen could have salvaged this situation if he were a better owner and more shrewd socially. So could Miller. Either could have been the bigger man, if one or both had been willing to simply call Pritchard in and explain that the act was wearing. But that would have required some humility and grace on their part.
Instead, they said nothing to Pritchard. The media did the dirty work for them after general managers around the league began whispering about the Blazers ego clashes. Pritchard read what was written, was deeply hurt, and dialed the public appearances back in mid-2009. He stopped being as accessible to the media, but it was too late by then. And frankly, his solution missed the mark. He should have simply stayed out front and kept talking, but made those above and beside him on the totem pole feel appreciated and loved before, not after, he was fired.
Welcome to Ego Island.
