Key To This Series.......

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

Was joking around today, but maybe there's something to it....... What if we started Kaman at center? You know how he is the master of the pump fakes and up and unders. Well DeAndre Jordan is know to try and block every shot in sight. Guys like that fall for the pump fake every time. Maybe start Kaman and see if we can pick up some early fouls on DJ?

Slip a note under Stott's hotel room door. Sign it with Dame's name so he knows to take it serious.

......... Jamal Crawford. If that guy is hitting, we have no answer. Can single handily take over a game.

HCP, YOu are very close to the Blazers.. Closer than any of us obviously. Have you heard anything at all about who we will put on Crawford and Riddick?
I think they are the two X factors for them I think we can match up against everyone else fine, but these two we will have to figure something out. I made comment elsewhere that I thought CJ would be the better of the two and take Crawful out of the series, but I forgot about Riddick. CJ cant contain both simply because of the minutes alone.

What are your thoughts and have you heard anything on the inside about this?

Is JJ playing today? He has a bruised heel and wasn't sure he'd be ready today.

Key to the series?

As a very talented but utterly unlikable Clips team scatters us across the bloody landscape like a possum caught in a wood-chipper - show some spunk and dignity.

We may not win, but we don't have to repeat last season's embarassment. Show some fight!

PAIN!

At some point in the game the Clippers will turn up the pressure and double our PG. I wonder if they wait until either CJ or Dame are out of the game. I think we need two PG's in at all times. Roberts might get important minutes.

Swish1's, Swish2's, and of course, Swish3's!

I really think it comes down to swish1's. They will TAKE more than us, due to Hack-a-Jordan, Paul's flopping, Blake's superstar status and Doc's bitching, but the key is, we need to MAKE more. I hope tonight's refs have the same backbone as the crew that called the GSW/HOU game last night and don't reward flopping and flailing. I also hope they don't give into CP3's constant whining and Doc bitching and moaning and riding the refs from the opening tip off. In general, the refs in the playoffs are better and more experienced. Hopefully, tonight's crew will have the balls to stand up to Doc and his anointed superstars and call the game fairly, not fall for the blatant flopping, and not give Blake and CP3 too many superstar calls.

What we really want is Jordan taking a LOT of FTs and Paul and Griffin taking below their regular season averages. If that happens, I like our chances.

To be fair, if any perimeter player is hitting, we have no answer.

I've been thinking, any time Mbah-a-whatever is in the game, I'd like to see CJ guard him so he isn't chasing Redick all over the court. Let Aminu spend 15 minutes doing that, taking away one of their potential advantages.

Well, LAC obviously identified CJ as the key to the series, throwing aggressive double teams at him, guarding him tightly off the ball when doubling Dame, and having Redick attack him on offense. That was depressing to watch Stotts' lack of adjustments to the obvious.

We'll be in good shape if Dame and CJ play like they have all season. Plumlee doesn't get owned by the Clips bigs and Aminu learns that they are leaving him wide open for a reason. I expect better play next game from Hark who was in foul trouble and Davis. I'd like to see a little more Kaman.

What's the solution though? What's the magical adjustment?

I think we may see more Kaman....the refs quickly called two on hark to stop him from becoming a factor....I think we will play on a different level in game 2...let the pig headed clips gloat in their ego so we can snatch game 2 from them

Roster changes. :) Seriously, I've been saying all season this roster is badly unbalanced. That doesn't help us at the moment, though. I agree that Kaman needs to be logging as many minutes as he's capable of. We're fielding a lineup with basically no offensive threats at three positions. DeAndre is such a good rim protector, and Griffin is so physical, Mo/Aminu's inside game isn't a big factor. And their outside games are about as good as Plumlee/Davis'.

So why are you so disappointed in Stotts for not adjusting when there's no adjustment to be made?

There are adjustments to be made. I used Kaman as one example. Why did you not quote that portion? :p

The key is having a 3rd shooter on the floor. Was it not obvious going into the series that LAC would focus on our guards? There has to be another threat out there at all times. CJ and Dame should play a minimum of 42 min/game and Crabbe, Gerald, or Roberts should always be on the floor with them. We can't get a rebound with our "big" lineup, so we might as well play to our strengths.

Because Kaman is washed up and not an option, period. He looked okay against Aldrich. He did a fantastic job of fouling Jordan. It was stupid and useless.
