Kidd Asked What He Would Do To Improve Nets

Following a 118-95 loss at Detroit on Sunday, Jason Kidd was asked where he would start if he had a chance to improve one aspect of the Nets, personnel moves aside.</p>

It was Kidd's opportunity to play team president, general manager and coach all at once.</p>

"Close your eyes and pick anything if you want," Kidd said after a thoughtful pause. "Start anywhere. Just close your eyes and pick one and that's what we'll try to improve on."</p>

- Cut one of Gill or Armstrong and sign some shooter(s). (They don't have guaranteed contracts yet, right?)</p>

- Trade one or both of Magloire and Collins. Lesson learned: if you are going to go for a one a dimensional defener or rebounder who is also a complete liability on offense, then go the Desagana Diop/Adonal Foyle route where it costs you 1-2 million as opposed to 6 million for Collins and 4 million for Magloire. *barf*</p>

- They could try playing more aggresive on defense and try to force more turnovers and get some steals which could lead to some fastbreak opportunities. Net's don't seem to attempt that many transition 3's much do they? Just get out on the break more or get into their halfcourt offense quicker and not get stuck into some slow half court game.</p>

- They shouldn't hesitiate shooting the ball as they have been at times and shoot confidently when they get a good look. They got to have a confident mentality abou their shooting. Malik has been shooting better so bringing him off the bench and running some plays for him where he can play off the big 3 to get some open looks on the perimeter like they did with Krstic and Moore.</p>

The obvious one would be to fire Frank. However, he can't be blamed for every aspect of Nets' losses. You have to look at the whole picture; Krstic is still in rehab, Marcus and DA are out, Nachbar is shooting bricks, and our big men our close to awful. It's easy to point fingers at Frank, but our 20+ point losses aren't because of him.</p>

the fact that Collins is making 6 million a year is atrocious. he's 4 mil away from making 10 mil a season</p>

Rebounding and defense, Kidd? Sounds like he wants a crack at playing with Sean more. Or wants Magloire to get off the bench. That's a reach, but he obviously doesn't want to lead the team in rebounding and I'm not sure what other big man he could be referring to.</p>

I can't really blame Kidd for criticizing the team. I mean, that's like 85% of what we do.</p>

It might just be me, but he seems to be throwing the team under the bus, saying that they couldn't win anything, and trying to distance himself from the team. He's making it obvious that he doesn't want to be on the team, or that he's at least unhappy about the way things are being done in the organization. It's considered common courtesy to only talk about it in private, not through the media.</p>

There are always excuses. Marcus Williams, how many people say he sucks? DA? Old bone you could say.</p>

Just see Detroit, they lost Chris Webber, Ben Wallace, and the Rip Hamilton in the beginning of the season.</p>

Have you ever seen that Detroit had lost their competitiveness?</p>

You have Magloire, Sean, and you don't know how to use them for the maximum, how can you say Frankis innocent?</p>
