Why is it that everytime J.Kidd has an MRI, the Nets always release these statement that always end with "evaluation isnt complete & they will not be commenting any further until it is complete". And then they never release a statement telling us the true root of Kidd's knee injury. Its like they are trying to hide something from us.

I remember Kidd missed alot time with injury when he 1st went to PHX, so I wonder does this injury have anything to do with that? if it does that means that Kidd will probably be fighting this injury for his entire career.
 
Yea Kidd missed a lot of time, I wonder if it is one of those injuries that will plague him for the rest of his career.
 
I just hope that he undergoes surgery this off season. We can't afford him to play hurt again next season, esp. the playoffs.
 
Hopefully it wont plague him cause then it would be another bust of a deal especially with the contract and money he signed for like Zo (i really wish could still play then we wouldnt have to talk about the center spot).

I think him going to into surgery would be the worst-case scenario. Although, his injury isn't as severe as Chris Webber injury was, surgery could be Jason Kidd downfall.
 
Kidd's MRI Could Lead to Surgery

damn that doesnt sound good. Hope it doesnt stop him from playing for us. Guess we need to go out and get Steve Nash.

surgery doesnt automatically mean that your career is over. surgery is helpful in some cases. dont turn on our franchise player already! plus we dont have the cash to go after him, we have bigger issues that need to be addressed than having two all-star players trying to play the same position. we dont need to be like the bucks and have payton/cassell,two pgs on the floor w/o a true sg.

the surgery possiblity is nothing new. when he went on the dl at the end of the season, there were talks about surgery then and you knew most likely he would get surgery. then he played well in the knicks series and that just made it worse and it showed in the detroit series. with him trying to play through it, he hurt his back. they will ask a handful of doctors and probably a little more than half will say surgery or he will have this problem for a long time, so i am expecting him to have surgery. hopefully the recovory process is quick and he will be able to still workout and come to camp in the 90% range or possibly 100%.

whatver happens to kidd, you cant say that he became a bust. we needed to pay zo that money to keep kidd and kidd deserved the money he got, and i know most nets fans have absolutly no problem with that b/c everyone knew if we lost kidd we were screwed for years to come. we needed to do anything we could to keep kidd in jersey b/c he could have <u>easily</u> gone to play with duncan, but he felt that with zo we had a legit shot of winning a title;which we did and still do. plus even if he does have a little bit of pain for the rest of his career, he is still better than half the pg's in the league. his points wont be up there anymore, but we all know he doesnt need to score to help us win, rj and kmart are taking that department over as they should. it just means we definitly need a realy shooting guard and a legit backup pg, which should be zoran 2yrs from now;sooner or later depends. think positive! he should be fine *crosses fingers*
 
I agree he wasnt a bust but lets hope that the injury doesn't make the rest of his career a bust. That is what made him a great pg he played through injury. That is y i really wish we had a legitamite pg in the playoffs so that he didn't have to be on the floor 24/7 just to beat a team. Hopefully we get that above average pg in the off season. And good luck to kidd on his surgery and recoverer because we need him at 100%. They just need that backup PG, a half court SG, and that Legit Center then we will be ok with the people we got
 
Hes going to make it through this, because thats how Kidd is. Next season hes going to lead the Nets back to the Finals where they belong
 
wel I hope everything goes well with Kidd. I cant imagine the Nets without there leader there to lead them I think this team would go down real fast. Especially ik Kidd comes back from surgery like Webber came back. ewwwww.

kidd hurt is still more valuable to us than webber hurt to the kings. maybe kidd wont be able to score that much anymore b/c maybe he wont have lift off his leg (yeah, insert kidd sucks at shooting comment here if you wish). he will still be able to pass the ball and run the break. maybe he cant run as fast or be ask quick on defense, but he brings so much to the table. for kings, webber has to score for them to have a chance to win, kidd obviously doesnt have too b/c of rj and kmart taking that role. but of course kidd will be fine and we will move from the #2 team in the east to the #1 team. of course our offseason moves go hand in hand with whether we become the #1 team, stay #2 or fall to #3.

well I understand Kidd might not have to score like Webber. But what i was saying is that if he cant run the break like he use too i dont see the Nets doing well. especially with there halfcourt troubles.

even with him we have half court trouble. thats why this offseason is key for us in order for us to move foward. if we pick up a ray allen or sar who can help us in the half court, then we can afford to have kidd rest for a few games or not depend on the break for a bit. if we really concentrate on halfcourt, then we will seriously have a great shot to win it. we already are one of the best defensive teams and the best fast break team. all we need is halfcourt. eventually we will have to become a halfcourt team 1st and run team 2nd. we all know if you cant score in the half court, your success is limited, yet we almost won it all last year getting away with not playing great hco, but fell two games short and it was b/c we had bad hco. if we get ray or sar, our hco will improve and will add to our fast break, which would be scary for opponents. so lets hope we get a productive offseason to take some pressure off kidd and his knee
 
Well it isnt the best news on the Kidd front in today's daily News, Kidd still haves decided whether or not he will have surgery but they said in the article that if kidd does have the surgery he will more than likely not be ready by training camp next season. They also said that he will have similar arthroscopic surgery as Allan Houston had last offseason. A surgery that Houston has yet to really recover from, & forced him to be in & out of the Knicks lineup this year. And miss the playoff vs the Nets this season.

I think this bit of News,puts more emphasis on my point that the Nets needed to pick up a veteran proven backup point guard instead of drafting a pg who has yet to prove himself like Telfair.

On another side note the return of Zo is very unlikely. This news isnt really a shock to me, since John Thompson was reported as trying to talk Zo out of making a comeback a couple of months ago.

Zo said that his main focus is making sure that new organ he has in him stays in him. He said that his doctors are worried if he could hold up if he made a potential comeback since he play such a physical style at the center position.

Yeah I read that. But I have to say that he better get that surgery during the offseason and miss some games during the start of the season rather than gamble it and miss some games towards the end of the season.

Zo said that only a miracle will bring him back to the court. He's more focused on living a life without basketball with his new kidney. He said that he doesn't want to go thru all the pains again.

i think we all know he should/will get surgery. hopefull kidd will be able to recover faster than houston. i think he should try and make his decision a.s.a.p so rod can know who to go after for a backup pg. if jason says he is going in for surgery now, hopefully he can start asap, then i think we could use that as leverage in trying to get a pg. we can tell them that kidd will be out for the beginning of the reg season and the backup will be able to start for a while and that will help that person learn the offense quicker than just practice. i think anthony johnson would like that sound. he didnt wana leave but he was kicked out for zoran and he still has friends on the nets and i wouldnt be suprised if they would talk to him in coming back. we dont really need a pg to score or make kidd-like passes, just someone who is fundamentally sound. we dont need a pg who will try and do too much and try to go what kidd does. a draft pick pg doesnt help us, we might as well start zoran b/c he at least has been in our system for 1yr when a draft obviously hasnt and i dont want lu (if he is still around) to be our substitute pg till kidd gets back. so kenny or any other available vet pg that is out there is a must-have on our offseason shopping list, not questions about it.

plus, we cant count on zo to comeback, period. even if he does, he realistically will probably play like 5min in two games and call it off or something like that. he isnt apart of our future, unless he wants to be some kind of coach to get a ring, and he really isnt apart of our present. his kidney is always going to be in the back of his mind, he wants to live for his family and he wont be able play at full speed and bang bodies. you know he wants to at least try where maybe he can play for 5min max and be the 3rd center option b/c he wants to be apart of the team. we know his love for basketball and i think he is trying to stick around for as long as he can because he knows the nets have a legit shot at winning a ring and he wants one, he may not be a big part of helping the nets win a ring, but he wants to be there to help in someway to win a championship. we all know the likely of him having a successful comeback is basically less than 50%. i just hope he doesnt end up hurting us more than helping us. i know his contract is a problem and people complain about it, but i wont b/c i know that money kept kidd in jersey and it was well worth it. so we need to go into the offseason and future plans with zo not involved in the future b/c if he is with us in the future; he likely will be wearing a suit and holding a clipboard.

That is true. and that is why they need to draft a point guard with passing potential and and yet could score 12 pts a game.

its not like he is retiring, he is just possibly getting surgery. plus it isnt career killer from what i have read and he will just need a while to get back to 100% and possibly have to miss a few games in the beginning of the season. his career isnt over by any means.
 
I didnt really mean it like that but I can see where you got that idea. I just meant that if he doesnt come back for the season. I agree that in the draft they need to draft Telfair if he is still there.
