Kings looking to trade Jason Thompson

People are making far too big a deal of our chemistry. Chemistry will NOT last 82 games. At some point our chemistry will disappear, regardless of whether the roster remains unchanged.

Hello, Mr. Whitsitt. I see you still haven't been taking any chemistry courses.

Are you trying to set up a false dichotomy with this statement? It really has no relevance to what I wrote.

Good luck having one without the other, good team defense relies on it.

I'd posit that good defense begets chemistry as often a the other. But we have great team chemistry, and poor team defense, so...

And in this instance, I'm talking about individual man defense, not team defense. But I certainly doubt that Lowry would make our team defense any worse; he'd probably make it better.

And on top of that, considering that he's much more a pure PG than Williams is, I'd bet he would actually help team chemistry on the offensive end as well.

So, long story short, give me capable, selfless defenders, and chemistry (and wins) will follow.

I trust Neil. He added Maynor mid-season last year and we played better because of it. I think he knows what he's doing, so if he decides to make a move, it will be for the betterment of the team.

I also think that you have to look at this team as a contender right now, and we can't be a contender with this bench. So either you think we have a legit shot at making noise, in which case we need to improve the bench, OR you think our play will drop off eventually and we'll end up 5th or lower and our bench is fine.

Agreed. If Lowry is D-ing up his man, playing his a$$ off and getting teammates more involved in the offense, it's not hard to imagine that would rub off on his teammates in a good way.

Agreed Nate. I think you treat it like we have a chance, and see what is out there.

I definitely don't think Neil is desperate, and I think he'll only make a move if it's the right one, and he feels comfortable. I wish CJ was already back because I really want to see what he brings to the table. He could change the dynamic of our second unit over night, but we have no idea when he'll be healthy and back in the rotation.

From the reports, the gist of his conversations don't sound desperate. Agreed about CJ. I'm somewhat skeptical of the ultrasound treatment he had but if it works, it's probably better than surgery. His boot has been off for a bit. Has anyone heard a projection of when he might be back at least working out with the team in some fashion?

Zip. Zilch. Nada. Nothing.

Haven't heard anything about CJ in weeks.

I'm very "meh" on Thompson. Back when we didn't have a C I wanted him. But I've never been impressed by him. I think both Freeland and Robinson play "better" than Thompson (Freeland has higher IQ and Robinson has better hustle), and Robinson will definitely be better than him, if not by the Playoffs, then certainly next season.

You've never been impressed by him but you wanted him when we didn't have a center? Why would you want him if you weren't impressed by him?

Because a to a man dying of thirst in the desert, a cup of piss sounds like refreshment.

Oh Hell no do I want Jason Thompson! They would need to give us a draft pick to assume that contract. Jason signed it before last season $30 million for a backup PF when we already have TRob. That contract runs until 2017 and might push us into the luxury tax when we have to resign LaMarcus, Wes, Lopez, and give Lillard an extension. I don't want to lose a starter because we are interested in a 3rd string backup PF.

Contracts don't really match up.

Wright trips me out a but. I had such high hopes for him. His shot and decision making has been shotty all season. Maybe the timing is off or something?
I think Wright is better than he has shown. I think it's a ball movement issue. We need a backup point guard who doesn't take his teammates out of the game.

It does seem that Mo has a vendetta against the ball and wants to pound it into submission for it's transgressions..

Re-read your response - the answer is in there.

I agree. We're not getting Wright the ball early enough when he's open.
