Knicks looking to trade David Lee in a sign and trade...

I think they could share. Pryz is a real team player, and he knows full well that the less he abuses his body, the longer his career. His value is now known around the league, so he'll get paid well.

Lee is the question mark. I think he'd be a fool not to want to play as one of four awesome big men - but people have been foolish. Lee is a superb addition - smart, fast, hustling... love to have him here.

I echo others: Sessions and Lee for any combination of Outlaw/Sergio/Blake/picks would be PHENOMENAL. The team would be a contender next year, no question.

Granted I don't watch much Knicks games, but is David Lee really as good of a compliment to Oden as LMA? LMA has shown he can step out and hit the mid-range jumper, which is huge in the pick and roll game with Roy. Lee might be a better rebounder, but we have Oden and Pryzbilla. IDK, I wouldn't like the look of that lineup as much.

Hard to say because we don't know what Oden will be yet. I thought LA and Oden could have great chemistry together, but they didn't last season. I don't think Lee or Oden will be good post up players, they are both clean-up players. But having two of those guys that can hit the boards can just demoralize the opposition.

The real issue is with Joel. If he were a better offensive player, we probably wouldn't be in this situation. Unfortunately, with Joel being the offensive void that he is, we are needing some more depth at the four spot. We can't have two players in the frontcourt who are incapable of being a legit scoring threat.

I totally agree, which is why I would target a guy like McDyess who has a pretty nice stroke out to about 12-15 feet, other guys I would consider (not necessarily advocating) would be Chris Wilcox, Drew Gooden and other power forwards who have a little bit of inside oriented offense in their game to go with decent rebounding -- it just doesn't necessarily need to be a guy like Lee who is going to command a lot of minutes -- get the guy who will, for whatever reason, be OK with a fifteen-ish minute role and can provide some toughness and steadiness.

I think you're coming at this from the fan's perspective, not a player's. Guys want to play and they want to get paid, there's nothing foolish about that.

Power forward and center: 96 minutes per game.

Aldridge at PF: 38 minutes
Oden at PF: 10 minutes
Oden at C: 22 minutes
Joel at C: 26 minutes

TWIN TOWERS!

Might as well just play LMA 48 mins.

Fine with me. Doesn't seem like he ever gets tired! And I was just throwing the twin towers thing out there.. cause when it happened I got so excited and started yelling "TWIN TOWERS! TWIN TOWERS!"

Why don't we just keep Outlaw....:dunno:

After that bad playoff series people have written him completely off, portland was great w/ trav at the 4 plus he can play 3 if Martell or Batum gets injured.

Hypothetically, we could get someone like Lee and have him play both backup spots, but that would leave us extremely thin at the four and the five. If Lee were to be injured, or in foul trouble, we would be in the lurch. However, it could be worth the move.

Trade Outlaw, Sergio, and the 24th to New York for Lee.

Trade Joel, Bayless, and Blake to Memphis for Mike Conley, Rudy Gay, and Haddadi.

Sign Andre Miller.

Miller/Conley
Roy/Rudy
Gay/Batum/Webster
Aldridge/Lee
Oden/Haddadi

Gross. I wouldn't do that.

We could certainly get Lee his minutes if we traded Joel. But then we're going back to having the problem of pourous interior defense. And Joel's departure would totally negate the addition of Lee's rebounding.

I think we should give Joel Freeland a chance to fill the David Lee role. He's 6-11, 250, and very athletic for his size. He put up great numbers in Euro-league, and we could get him for a fraction of the cost, without giving up Joel, and he'd not complain about minutes.

We should get rid of Outlaw, and use the cap space to sign Hedo Turkoglu. He can run the offense like a PG, and we'll certainly need that next year. I'd play him with the 2nd unit, to control the game when Blake/Roy are out.

Or perhaps we could trade for Lee, then trade Aldridge for a top PG or SF, like Tony Parker or Danny Granger?

Blake/Bayless
Roy/Fernandez
Granger/Batum
Lee/Freeland
Oden/Pryzbilla

Gross. Why would you trade LMA? Fahqouttahere.

This is a thread without a single link. Before I even discuss this possibility, I'd like to see some actual proof that the Knicks are thinking about trading David Lee.

You sir, are a man of principles. We serfs, on the other hand, just like to pass the time in idle conversation.

It must not be true then!

Here's the original blurb from the Boston Globe (scroll down the page to the "Free Throws" section).

Other papers have picked it up and run with it. Here's one from the Detroit Free Press.

Of course, these are all rumors and speculation, but what else is there this time of year? At least they come from somewhat reliable sources.
