Knicks Style!

What would you prefer?
* A young and atletic team, like phoenix or Seatle
or
* A hard defensive team, half court, as the Knicks were used to be

direccion with players like Ariza, Qrich, Jamal, Robinson ....
There is also players like marbury, Sweetney; Malik and even TT who I think dont?t fit in this kind of sistem.

One of the worst problems of last year was the team doesn?t have an identity. Even Marbury said that several times "we never play the same way"
so... THE MOST important thing right now is to know wich way we want to play, and then... we should take the right players.

In my opinion, I never seen a team who wins without playing defense. (the best example was the SUNS This years: They create a great team but they couldn?t beat SAN Antonio), so it would be ideal a running team which plays stronf full court defense.

Well the Knicks have been trying to get younger and more athletic and getting guys such as Q, Nate, Frye, and Lee is a step in the right direction for the style we're trying to go in. I don't care what style the Knicks play as long as they win. That being said, usually teams win with defense and the old Knicks in the 90's defined defense.

In all fairness, the Knicks were injury plagued, made two big trades last season and had two head coaches. That's hard for players to adjust to so their identity was never established unlike teams such as Phoenix.

It's going to be a transition game for the Knicks next season and although it might excite the crowd, one has to imagine if it will last until the postseason as you said, marcelonbraga. Personally, I think it could work and the Suns losing was not because of their style, it was because they could not contain the 7-foot Tim Duncan with Shawn Marion. Also, the Spurs were simply the better team. It's not bad losing to the NBA champions.

I really would really want a Brevin Knight kind of PG instead of Marbury, but it's all good. Marbury can and will run the show next season and now that he has the insurance of other scorers, he won't have to feel like he needs to do everything and will fee more passing oriented. Remember when he first came to the Knicks? He had guys like Tim Thomas having a career year, Houston (when healthy), and the good old Kurt Thomas.

As for Malik and Sweetney - well, I don't think they're really known for really running the floor, but Malik is capable of doing so and is more athletic than what he's given credit for. Sweetney is most likely gone this season so we really don't have to worry about him.

The bottom line is this: The Knicks will look to run more and got the perfect players to do so. Whether or not it proves successful remains to be seen and is yet another mystery we will have to wait for in this upcomming season.
