Celtics coach Doc Rivers, fresh off an NBA title, believes that his old team, the Knicks, will return to glory at some point.

"I was a part of it when the Knicks were good. I was there. There was no better feeling as a player than playing in that city when you’re winning," Rivers said. "It was a phenomenal feeling, with that whole 'Go New York, go New York, go.' The city was going nuts. That will return. I don’t know what day, what year, but it’s going to return."

Rivers played for New York for more than two seasons and came close to winning a title with the team.

He's just kind of pointing out the obvious. The Knicks won't such forever. Once they free themselves some cap space, sign some guys and complete some trades, they're bound to succeed again. They'll always have an owner who's willing to pay the luxury tax and those kinds of teams always have their ups and downs just like every other team, but can always bounce back since they can resign their players without worrying about the lost money once they're over the cap.
