HELLO Kobe?

Can Isiah start chasing after Kobe now? I don't know what to say at this point but after hearing a possible trade of Lewis for Nate and Craw! I would say Kobe would love to come here if Lewis was here!

Nope.

No way LA makes a trade with the Knicks.

Their is no one they would want on this team.

Which won't happen, plus, there is nobody I would want from the Knicks

^I mean, it is unlikely, but he did say he was pretty close to signing with the Knicks as a FA. Even if you don't like anything the Lakers have to offer, it's pretty much Kobe's decision...

But like I said, it's unlikely but nevertheless a possiblity.

If Kobe were to join the Knicks, I MIGHT actually pop a boner. Just sayin'...

I can see Kobe accepting new york as his new team

It can be possible because we are a big market where Kobe can get his stuff going again promotion wise. But again he is not gonna get traded from what I hear on ESPN News! LA wants him back as much as Knicks Fans want to see him play in Knicks uniform.

I don't see any reason for Kobe to come to New York, sure it's a big market, but so is Los Angeles. The Knicks give Kobe no better chance of winning a championship than the Lakers, if anything, he's probably going to end up in Chicago, but like you said, a trade most likely won't happen anyways

The Knicks have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING the lakers would want. No huge expiring contracts, no super intriguing young players.

They have marbury
Francis
Crawford.

Marbury isn't half the player kobe is- even Marbury knows this.
Franic was once traded for Tmac, now he'd be lucky to be trade for a top 10 draft pick.
Crawford- has his moments but the Lakers have Lamar Odom, they don't need crawford.

Say the knicks offer Frye, crawford or francis and nate for kobe... thats gonna leave a lineup of:

1st 5:
Marubury
Kobe
Rashard (If they acquire him then Kobe wpuld definitely want to go here)
D. Lee
Curry

Bench: Q rich, francis or crawford, rose

Sounds good

No way. Firstly I can not see Kobe being traded period! and if he was then it would not be to the Knicks. The reason he wants to be traded is because he is frustrated the reason he is frustrated is because he is not on a winning team and the front office are screwing up NYK are in building mode so he wouldn't dream of it. End of story, maybe in NBA 2K7...

Not in a million years.

The rumors are Crawford and Nate for Rashard anyway.

Why would Seattle want Crawford and Nate anyway. Crawford is streaky but still an ok player but with Ray Allen you really don't need Crawford and Nate is a SG in a PG body bearing in mind they also have Ridnour and Watson.

Why would Kobe go to New York? The team is in shambles much moreso than the Lakers. LA is a huge market also, but he wants to WIN. That isn't going to happen in New York. AND there is nothing the Lakers would want in return from the Knicks.

It’s time to dispel this fallacious notion of the Knicks being in shambles.

When you glance at their record they’re 33-49. But let’s further delve into the Knicks’ season. Notice the team’s injuries: Jamal Crawford, the Knicks best closer and second leading scorer with 18 PPG, played only 58 games. David Lee, who’s amongst the NBA leaders in rebounds and FG%, only played 56 games. Nate Robinson only played 64 games with injuries and suspensions. Quentin Richardson played 49 games. Stephon Marbury played 74 games, most which came in the final month of the season when the Knicks were 2 games behind a playoff berth. Steve Francis played 44 games.

Had everyone been healthy, there’s no doubt the Knicks would have made the playoffs. The injuries combined for a total of about 60 points and 20 rebounds. This also threw the chemistry off balance. The Knicks were so badly depleted, in April Mardy Collins led the entire NBA in MPG!

And why is in LA in less shambles than the Knicks? Kobe pretty much single-handily got them to the playoffs. The only real “asset” the Lakers had other than Kobe was an inconsistent Lamar Odom. In New York Kobe will have a veteran PG in Marbury. I know people will say the “selfish” word to describe Marbury, which is totally untrue. Marbury only took 13 shots per game. The only time he became less passive is when the team needed him to do so like in a scoring drought or from the injuries to Crawford, Francis.

Curry is also the big man the Lakers hope Bynum will become. I know people discredit him for his defense, but it’s an aspect of his game, which he is currently working on this offseason. Kobe is also better than any defender on the Knicks, so he won’t allow as many defenders in the paint, giving Curry an easier time.

Curry and Marbury are the best center and point guard Kobe has played with (as of 04-05). With Kobe and Curry unstoppable on the perimeter and paint respectively, the offense will be pretty unstoppable to say the least. I would imagine a Kobe-led Knicks team being able to compete with any team in the East, at least.

Kobe himself said he was close to signing with the Knicks in the offseason. Even though L.A. is a big market, it still isn’t the same as New York. New York is considered the capital of the world and is one of the greatest cities in the history of the world. I don’t find the difficulty in Kobe wanting to play for the Knicks, who with his company, can be one of the best teams in the league.

The main reason Crawford and Nate are always rumored to be traded to the Sonics is because they are from Seattle.

All true facts, I totally agree with you but I believe that many of the Laker fans come here with anger and try to put our team down for no reason. Like we are the laughing stock of the entire NBA.

Agreed. Good post.

With Kobe, Lee, Stephon, and with Curry continuing to develop (people forget he is only 24), we could become the top team in the East, and easily the best in the Atlantic division.

Let me just address the last part of your post: True, NYC is bigger than LA but isn't California the most populated state in the most powerful country in the world? Mentioning that NYC is the largest city is misleading.

If you compare city to city, New York has over 8.2 million people, LA only has 3.7 million.

It's not misleading.

NYC is a bigger.

When I said "misleading" I meant that what you said is indeed true (when did I say NYC was smaller than LA?), but you failed to mention that more people live in California; and the Lakers are the most popular team in that state, thus one could make the case that Kobe would be more popular if he stayed in LA.

the L.A. metro area has around 13 million people, but the NY metro area has 18 million.....

You also have to consider the fact that there are 4 teams in California, too.

LA does have three other teams but I'm sure the fans from that area like the Lakers anyway (bandwagoners; not including Sac-Town).
