KP looking for Penn's Replacement

Here's the good part:
The Blazers will meet today with center Greg Oden to formulate a summer rehabilitation plan for the often-injured big man. Pritchard said Oden is committed to remaining in Portland as much as possible this summer, and added that his surgically repaired left knee is supposed to be in excellent shape.

Pritchard said Brandon Roy, who is recovering from right knee surgery, has made significant progress in his rehab, and is primarily focused on improving his conditioning.
Let's hope Brandon comes into camp ready to play this year. Dreaming about his big contract didn't seem to do him much good last year as a summer workout routine.

Looks like the KP firing rumors are officially over.
to split hairs, the rumors are that he may not be retained as his contract is up this offseason. While my best guess is that he'll eventually get a new contract to stay, I don't see this link as providing any further support for this guess. Dude is still the GM today and so is going about the team's business like he is supposed to... it would be real news if he wasn't helping look for Penn's replacement

Isn't his contract up next offseason, not this one?

just looked it up, and you're right/I'm wrong. He's under contract through next season.

Still doubt he's going anywhere or that being involved in finding Penn's replacement is any sort of indication that he's going to be extended

What if he's looking for Penn's replacement, then when they get hired, KP is fired, and the new guy is promoted?!?!?! So KP is actually looking for his own replacement!

He should hire himself as assistant GM, resign as GM, take the position as assistant GM, and be immediately promoted to fill the vacancy at the GM level.

I'm no good at #'s, but have an eye for talent, I'm applying!
