I tend to agree with Ed here. That quote doesn't sound like Sessions to me. It sounds more like a major move. Such as bringing in a Baron Davis or a Jason Kidd, where a lot will be unhappy due to their perceived flaws, but everyone will know them.
I seem to recall Pritchard really liking Kidd. And after seeing how well he was playing in Dallas, I could see bringing him in as the veteran leader, particularly if he's interested and willing to sign a more reasonable contract than his last one (he pretty much has to, noone is going to pay him max money again, though he should still acquire a sizable salary).
